This is the most amazingly idiotic thing I have ever heard. There could not be better proof that the European welfare state is in its most decadent state. How on earth intelligent people could be convinced, let alone persuaded, that giving this woman 4000 plus euros to solve her insecurity complex with her breasts was an advisable thing to do is simply beyond comprehension; it smacks of the most crude government incompetence thinkable.

There is simply no rational justification for dishing out such a sizable sum for such a questionable issue. And as for the utterly laughable argument that she was depressed and bigger tits could alleviate sadness? Besides the superficiality of subsidizing her vision of becoming the next Katie price, there are far more healthy and fiscally sagacious ways to help her: ie therapy.

There are some people who disagree with the governments role as financer for mental health issues. There are decent arguments both for and against this. But this is satire. It's a freaking joke. If I were British, I would be haranguing the people and system that could allow such an irresponsible use of public funds.

it is indeed remarkably stupid. however, if i was down, and saw her humongous chebs, it may cheer me up... and that price divided between 55 million or so is a small price to pay to have nice jiggly jubblies to oogle at.

and seeing as i paid for them, i could argue i get visitation rights - it's only fair

ETA: forget the above...

“My new boobs have changed my life, now I want to be the new Katie Price,”

this girl needs brain surgery, and if that fails, turn her into soylent green

Sounds like this woman is a con artist who played the doctors. I agree she should have had some therapy first but that doesn't always work and mental injuries are just as hurtful as physical ones.

You can complain about their medical system but compare how many of their citizens do without medical compared to the oh so great one we have in the states.

She'll learn. The UK is out the bucks ..which means the public is out the money for her lesson in how you can't escape yourself.

However....She's in for a shocker. Those are pretty BIG implants. My other half was blessed with a very ample chest ....as men would have seen it. THIS man (me) got to see it from her personal side and just how much a curse big chests are for the women who deal with it. Never again will I look at that and think how lucky the woman must be. Nope... How miserable she likely is with back problems in her future ..that's more like it. Mine had a reduction and it cost US plenty ...because big boobs mean weight off center and it does nasty things over time.

This kind of garbage should never be allowed on public money. Let her cough up her own cash if she's so insecure. That used to be a problem for people to learn to live with or get over ...not the Government to cry a river and open their checkbooks for.

Damn. I followed the link, hoping to see some 72-year-old cheesecake, but was disappointed. Any other sources with photos of the babe in question?

Never mind. I read that backward: 22-year-old with $7200 implants. Damn again....

I found a video of the woman. She wants to be a model.

I want to be a millionaire. I bet my odds are better, to look at that.

Jeebus. I think she's gonna need more than implants. Maybe she better ask for a few more bucks....

Its not that hard to find. The article is linked below.

The Sun - Wannabe model gets giant 36DD boobs... courtesy of the taxpayer

Ummm... hmmm.. well . If I was a UK taxpayer I'd want my money back.

But here is the saddest thing about it. She says..

“I want the world to see the new me and want money and fame just like Katie — and my new boobs can make it all happen.”

Josie will leave Harley, five, and two-year-old Frankie — her children from a previous relationship — with her parents while she chases her Jordan modelling dream.

Her new implants may end up costing her kids their mom.

I think they should have only given her one implant

If those kids loose their mother over this, they should be greatfull. Being brought up by a woman that shallow would be child abuse.

This is amazing news!

I can go to a doctor and complain "Hey doc, I feel stupid. I am being mentally disturbed by my computer. It's too old. I need a bigger one." and get me a new gaming rig.

Same thing, cosmetic appearances..

I look at fake boobs like I look at that fugly .. this.. whatever her name is.

Really? Looking good..

Fake boobs just scream that to me. I wouldn't poke them with a stick if they fell from space...

What the hell is wrong with this woman!?

Going from a size A up to a DD?
That's strapping 8 extra pounds to your upper torso suddenly and permanently.

Does UK assist all the lonely depressed creepers to boost their self esteem by paying for prostitutes, because we just can't have people with self esteem issues running around now can we?

That is absurd! Like another member mentioned, she should have been directed to seek counseling. smh.
And she is ugly! More than half of the female members here on ATS are way more attractive then her. I will laugh so hard if she never becomes the model she so desires to be.

That's almost 8 extra pounds per boob! I have a feeling she'll regret this decision in a short time after she starts experiencing back problems, then again, maybe not. The implants may weigh less then the real thing.

If her "modelling" career is spent mostly on her back ...
ah, but that's just more mean than I usually am.

I don't envy the girl her choice. It's going to be like one of those Djinn or Leprechaun wishes granted that always has an unforeseen catch in the fine print.
She doesn't strike me as being the sharpest knife in the drawer from her interview either.
$7500 invested in a University education would have done her better.

So boobs make people famous? News to me..

Some serious failure of logic there.

And, whoever approved the funding for this procedure.. should be fired.

lol....@ the visitation rights comment.

However, there comes a point where being funny becomes facetious. Its your money, you're right. In Canada, where I live, if this were done, I'd be emailing my MP seeking the removal of the official responsible for this ghastly use of taxpayer funds.

Just think it over. I heard that the European Union was planning on providing funds for young people to travel the world - thats a new one! Never before in the history of mankind did 'travel for the sake of leisure' become a universal right. That makes sense to very few people outside Europe. If that didn't ring of superfluity, of stupid, non sensible (not to mention fiscally impossible) albeit new ways to get lure people into socialist welfare, this better seal the deal.

I have never heard something so incredibly stupid, and the lack of outrage in the UK at this buffoonery bespeaks something lackadaisical in the thinking of the average brit.

don't make her depressed!

Soon enough she'll get the government funding her facial reconfiguration surgeries...

Instead of girls aspiring to something meaningful, the Brits have invented new lows: become a "glamour model", which translated means, show your tits in magazines for guys to drool over.

I still haven't found a British article critical of this blatant misuse of public funds. lol....Help me find one!

Literally, what COULDN'T you complain about? This idiocy provides a lucrative precedent for all sorts of "depressed" people "needing" things that anywhere else are considered superfluous. I;E --> I'm sad about my being poor? I'm sad about my not having a 10,000 dollar computer? Could the government provide me with one???

What is it about the UK and cultural degradation?
