Wow. This is pretty huge. I wonder what is going on?

Was he involved in a huge scandal that is going to come to light soon?

Has any other Pope in History just "resign" all of a sudden?

This is so very strange. And, you may not believe me, but I had an intuitive feeling that something significant would happen today, February 11th.

Your thoughts?

The Pope said he is 'fully aware of the gravity of this gesture'.

Daily Mail

"The pope announced that he will leave his ministry at 8:00pm (local time) on February 28," said the spokesman, Federico Lombardi. More to come.

This is the reason given on Time World:

He said that because of his advanced age and diminishing strength, he didn’t feel he could carry on the job.

Sounds legit. But, there could be other factors involved.

My guess is it's over his alledged direct involvement in covering up the sex abuse scandal.

Bill Maher had a guy in his show last week I believe that wrote a book recently that details his involvement. Sorry don't remember the guys name

I never pay much attention to the Pope and forgot how old and frail he is.

I hope things go smoothly from here on out, that's all I can say from here. The power of the Pope always fascinated me. I wonder who will take his place?

Who will take his place?

It will have to be one of the Kardashians, surely...

Took me a minute to figure out what you were talking about...

"In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Petrus Romanus, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations; after which the seven-hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End."

The Last 10 Popes Prophecies

Am I right? Was that your reference?

I'll see if I can find it. Either way, I feel that it's more than just his health. But, that probably is the real reason.

Sorry if my first link was from CNN (Corrupt News Network)

If they take those prophecies seriously, they will go to great lengths not to fulfill it. This does seem odd with all the other things we've been seeing. If it will, it will and if it don't, it don't.

POPE Benedict XVI says he will resign on February 28 because his age prevents him from carrying out his duties, an unprecedented move in the modern history of the Catholic Church.

He is the first pontiff to do so in nearly 600 years and the decision sets the stage for a conclave to elect a new Pope before the end of March.

I wonder why Adolfo Nicolas ordered him to step down?

So this paves the way for the supposed 'last' Pope?

"In the extreme persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit [i.e., as bishop]. Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations: and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the terrible judge will judge his people. The End."

en.wikipedia.org...

Interesting.
I like how it ends with "The end".

Something is afoot surely.
But he has to name his successor, I would imagine.
