NASA predicts total blackout on 23-25 Dec 2012 during alignment of Universe.

ireport.cnn.com

US scientists predict Universe change, total blackout of planet for 3 days from Dec 23 2012.
www.nasa.gov...

It is not the end of the world, it is an alignment of the Universe, where the Sun and the earth will align for the first time. The earth will shift from
the current third dimension to zero dimension, then shift to the forth dimension. During this transition, the entire Universe will face a big
change, and we will see a entire brand new world.

What a load of sensationalist crap and why was this even ran online?

As the producers note reads:

CNN PRODUCER NOTE This story has not been confirmed by CNN. NASA has debunked this myth, saying it "makes no astronomical sense at all." The space agency says that the sun, Earth and the center of our galaxy move into alignment regularly and that it is harmless. You can read more about this on NASA's website.

What is the point of this rubbish? Are CNN trying to make already retarded/paranoid fools do even more retarded and paranoid things on these dates? Dumb.

People will read your first post, fail to read anything after that, and you will get tagged as a subscriber to the subject.
But, we will find out who is guilty of not reading a thread before commenting!

That's their problem, this story hacks me off, it's pointless.

Sensationalist garbage is way too mild a term for this. This SITE is shown as a web address just a bit down the page and is a direct link to the NASA article this junk is based on. Nowhere in the actual NASA article does it claim that any of that is going to happen.

It looks like some tabloid style writer got wind of the fact that NASA even mentioned these things, even though debunked in the same NASA article, and started doing the journalistic equivalent of running in circles and shouting that the sky is falling.

The title is very misleading as it states that NASA is calling this a hoax.

That's the point mate, why even run it with a hoax label?

You already know the answer to that one. CNN's ratings have been abysmal.

I read the article. No where does it say anything about a black out for 3 days :-/ Says quite to opposite.

Now we're aligning with the whole universe!

I thought that we didn't know it boundaries or its center, now were aligned with it?

Glad someone keeps me informed (thanks ATS doom-porn froot loops).

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

CNN ireport

This particular trapping of the commercial media has been rearing its ugly head in many ways. This allows avid CNN followers a chance to be as 'journailsts' with the net result being the self-titled articles such as we see here.

Needless to say CNN Ireport is as useful as "beforeits..etc." and other such content sources.... IMO should only be used as a starting point or adjunct to ... not the substance of ... a story.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

It's so pathetic that "journalists" will exploit these people with such insecurities about the world ending.

Don't look at this thread as a doom gloom thread mate, look at it as a critical point on stupid reporting aimed at already troubled people.

First line of the linked NASA article is:

One of the most bizarre theories about 2012 has built up with very little attention to facts.

Apparently whoever posted this junk to CNN didn't read the linked article, which is a clear debunking of lunacy.

Yes because the universe will have aged a year! God bless entropy and it's ever changing methods of killing us.
