"Last week Curiosity was able to use its SAM (Sample Analysis at Mars) device to confirm the discovery. A robotic arm with a complex system of Spectral Analysis devices was able to vaporize and identify gasses from the sample, concluding that it is in fact plastic. Well, this is certainly big news!

There is no mention that they believe it could have come from the rover or any of the other things we have shot up there over the last few years. So i'm inclined to believe it to be real.

Perhaps the plastic isn't as old as they would lead us to believe however?

Sorry to tell you, it's a hoax.

The website referenced in the OP's link (nasaupdatecenter.us) is hosted by hostgator to a "Xavier Jenks" and is not an official website for the mars rover. (To the best of my limited knowledge.)

Now nasa.gov is registered to NASA langley research center, not some random guy's name.

Wow, now we can prove even aliens use toys.

Well if NASA would get off their a$$ and tell us what they found instead of making people speculate this type of thing would never happen.

The cat is out of the bag so why all the BS?

Are they holding out for more funding?

I am so sick of waiting to hear what they found that I am ready to protest anything they do in the future.
