6.3 earthquake Vancouver Island

LoL! Yeah, that's so irksome. "It's just and aftershock..."

If this happened around 6 pm pacific time, I have to say then this affirms my suspicions I had last night when I was in my living room. Though, it must have been a very short quake like 1 second or so.

I was watching tv in my living room..true story...and I had my right foot resting on my coffee table. I then raised and placed my left foot onto the edge of the table...and just as I did that I felt a shake.

I thought that was odd and I wasn't sure if my foot actually shook the table like that. So I redid the steps, and didn't get the same result. So I shrugged my shoulders and didn't think much more of it hahaha

Pre cursor to the Cascadia Fault giving way? Let's hope not.

A 6.3 is large! How does someone on Vancouver Island not feel this earthquake is my quuestion.

There are a few coastal towns that would be hit hard if we were to ever unfortunate enough to experience a large tsunami(Port Alberni would get hit pretty bad). But with enough of a warning I'm quite sure most people could reach higher ground if they wanted to. There are many places that could be hit much worse than Vancouver Island(depending on the size and location of the epicenter)and we would have to get hit with the "BIG ONE"(mag.8.5+) before a wave could be expected to reach the other side of the Pacific with any significant size. Even a very large wave would not inundate Vancouver Island as it is very mountainous.

Well looks like I'm spending this day packing a EQ kit, better safe than sorry right?
I live in Ladner (only people from Fraser Valley will know where that is lol)
