As she sat at the table
Stacking her chips
Peeking at cards
And licking her lips
She threw in a huge bet
Then came my turn
I thought to myself
She has money to burn
Maybe she's bluffing
Maybe she's not
How will I know
If I don't take a shot
The tension was mounting
All eyes were on me
As I slid in my stack
I said we shall see
She flipped her cards
Then I flipped mine
We both had a pair
"Pocket nines"
On the table three clubs
And the turn was a spade
If I catch a club on the river
I'll have it made
We stare at each other
As the dealer advances
A club on the river!
What are the chances?

That was great, and entertaining!
There are some talented writers here on ATS! I'm having fun reading all of these short stories.
You poker poem = clever & awesome.

Glad you liked it! I love poker, hence my screen name. Pronounced "I'm all in" for all the non-poker players.

They look pretty good from where I'm sitting.

The rhymes were perfect and the cadence was flawless.

Good stuff.

I don't know much about poker, but the rhythm of your words was perfect and it had a playful, flirty feel to it that I liked.
