Music Of India And It's Films

I've had a connection to India and it's films for the last 20+ years (viewing lots of them). Some of the best films and music I've ever heard are from India. I invite you to learn something new or contribute music from films there I/We have never heard before. Some will have english subs and some not.

No one does the romantic films like they do.

Kal Ho Na Ho

I watched Chaiyya Chaiyya in multiple languages, its pure poetry. I think some words(thats described) don't even exist in English i believe.

This was one of the nominee for international movie at Grammy in 1999.

edit: The new Bollywood movies are modified soo much its like they make the movie for Western Audience, it lost its uniqueness. Its just a generic now.

and i would say this is ONE of India's Music/Films, there are many languages and cultures in India.

I admit, I don't know much about Indian films and Bollywood and other such things... I know that they produce far more films than Hollywood each year and that usually a bollywood film contains a number of dance/musical sequences.

I do admit, the few bollywood clips I have seen, I did enjoy. Not sure what it is about them that I have found captivating...But... There is just something about them.

Yes, much is lost in translation as there are no words in English which transmit that emotion which is there in that language I've been told.

There are more than 25 languages in India and cultures.
