About time something solid happened...the absolute stalling pace at which these stupid investigations take place leave them out of the news too much when they happen......between episobes the public forgets their passion for the incidents over time, as well as the incidents themselves become old news too quickly

The goverment needs a better faster committee system to get to the root of these problems faster, and they need desperately to PUNISH the RESPONSIBLE persons , even if those people span admiistrations......it happens on your watch you stand good for it.....MeanwholeExecutive priviledge is just going too damn far with the whole scandal....Obama does the people a disservice in not releasing said information......time hey put some bounds on what can be withheld from congress....my interpretation would be NOTHING is SACRED>!

For this crime if found guilty, holder should swing.

It was the only way to get resolution to this issue. When Congress voted for contempt, there were 2 contempt charges laid out.

The first is criminal contempt of Congress. Because its criminal it falls to the DOJ to prosecute (which holder runs) so we knew it was not going to go anywhere.

The civil contempt was the ace in the hole. Because its civil its not prosecuted by the DOJ. Instead they get to make a direct argument to a federal judge. The civil process can be used to circumvent the DOJ / Obama executive priviledge invocation.

The judge can review the documents in question and can rule on whether or not executive priviledge applies in this case. If it does not then they must turn over the documents the committee was wanting that holder was refusing.

Those documents could possibly allow criminal prosecution of people if its discovered they lied to the committee.

It was a well thought out maneuver with no clear win for holder in my opinion. The other action being taken is to file a complaint against holder with the bar association. They are seeking suspension / revocation of holders law license on ethics violation issues resulting from his testimony to the committee.

Obama already cleared Holder's name, remember?

Selling guns to the Sinaloa cartel? Proves that the government is the worlds biggest crime organization. Money laundering, gun-running, murder, all in a days work. No more Government!

Holders a DEAD man....hes just incidently walking right now......Hes gonna pay for running this stuff and its gonna be shown he knew and Obama knew what was going down, and i bet they get shewn to have engaged in damage control that was illegal......
Obama will get to write it off, but Holder will get roasted for the whole thing sooner or later...thats where the buck stops when you run an organisation.....your second in command......
We will see over the next decade what price Holder pays...because it wont be anytime soon hes asked to pony-up.....
Everyone will have forgotten who he is by the time it all comes out in the wash.....:

This is one of the best reason's to get rid of the Obama administration in November.

People cannot forget about this.

Notice a lot of the anti constitutional type laws are passed by majorities of BOTH sides of the house......
The line has been crossed by most of Congress and the Senate....
The Supreme Court by rights should have had arrested All those who voted for such things as the Patriot act, NDAA etc.....These are treasonous and illegally instituted laws.....
Presidential powers have been expanded far beyond any constitutional mandate.
If there will be no Federal institution which will step in, It becomes incumbent upon the States Militias, and Reserve Army corps to unite with Local law Enforcement,of all descriptions to persue constitutional justice....
This is the time for all peoples of the US to make their decision what they stand for, and more importantly what they may have fallen for.....

Seriously, will a Republican pres, or even a different Dem. pres.
Make one whit of difference to the course of this country at this juncture?

Obama does not want the real story of fast and furious out before the election as this would cost him a lot of votes.

fast and furious was modified after Obama took office to be a program to give them a reason for a gun ban and confiscation.
