The overall effect of Al-Queda's terrorists attack on 911 is very big. The Wars, security costs, and fear that evolved from it has cost a lot of countries a lot of money. The TSA costs are going to go on for a while if not indefinitely. The cost of Homeland Security is overwhelming. Our National debt has increased at a spiraling rate in response to Al-Queda's actions. Their actions have made a big impact on the world. I doubt if they themselves even realized how much effect it would have.

Its amazing how that one terror attack was a huge Boon for the military industrial complex..

You know the same one that was losing money after the cold war...

Funny that.

Actually believe it or not but Bin Laden was so egotistical that the genuinely believed that the attacks would have cost America much more that it did. He realised that at the heart of American power stood its economy, his believe was that if he could draw America into a war he could defeat America simply by doing exactly what the OP has described. He himself was something of a conspiracy theorist believing that America (rightly or wrongly) controlled many corrupt secular governments of Muslim states and supported Israel. Therefore he believed that by crippling the American economy through war he would eventually force America to withdraw support for these regimes and as such the Muslim people would rise up and take create true Islamic theocracies in their respective states.

Quite allot more to it but simply put that was his thinking.

True America does continue to pump money into the war against Al-Qa’ida and its allies.

The truth is however, for government this spending on war is costly, yes for the military industrial complex war is always good but only if the government can pay for it. The government only has so much It can spend on defence, well lets face it the American government spends more than anyone else on defence. However the key thing to remember is that this is only a benefit for the military industrial complex while the government can pay. Bin Laden’s vision was to cripple the American economy until it could no longer even afford to spend money to pay for the two bullets that eventually killed him.

In the short term remember after 9/11 the American economy went into a recession and the attacks cost the American economy billions.

Our economy and our schools are not failing because the government doesn't spend enough money. They are failing because the government is too involved in them.

The government was supposed to be watching it's money better and it wasn't. Banks were allowed to use the governments money and abused it, the lack of oversite is why we have economic problems. It is not the banks money, it is the governments money, it is the peoples money. The less government control on the money the more chances of corruption and the longer it is allowed to happen the bigger the corruption gets. The government was erred in that they were trying to stimulate the economy for the bragging rights of economic growth, in essence they were trying to protect a flawed system of consumer based economy which has never worked successfully in any country in history. The only exception is Switzerland which has a job to watch over world money and is neutral. I wonder how they weaseled into that Job. I think it has something to do with the ruler Odin's money long ago.

More false terror = more money spent on preventing false terror, and more money siphoned off by the crooked government.

In your opinion, has there ever been a case of "real flag" terrorism, or is every bus bombing, etc, an "inside job"? If so, which one, and why.
