Is the first book in a Trilogy of erotic novels by author E.L.James
And it has been dubbed Mommy Porn because the book is aimed at women as a romantic novel and empowering
Here is a link for the naughty bits
www.thedailybeast.com...
As it goes i think this is a bit tame and this girl needs a real man

Yet if this book was aimed at the male market
It would be considered as porn and therefore filthy and disgusting
But for woman it is romance and empowering
www.thesun.co.uk...

Mrs Cran has read these books and has shocked herself when websearching up some of the sex acts in the book that she had never heard of
But if i had bought the book to read i would get 'Why are you reading that porn'
Women=Romantic novel
Men=Filthy porn

What do you think ATS

Reaction to the excerpts:

Further thoughts: Yes there's a discrepancy there, but it's kinda like the whole "girls don't fart" thing.

Sugar and spice and all things nice, snails and puppy dogs tails. In both women and men the brain is the sex organ the genitals/eroginous zones are the visible signs that the brain is aroused. The vast majority if not all sex problems like impotency etc are mental, viagra though it does effect blood flow is mostly as far as sex is concerned a placebo that is the power of the mind, because you expect a more forefilling and erotic experience your brain creates one.Women and men enjoy watching porn in equal measure, women due to the expectations instilled in them through their early childhood development are generally more sexually repressed then men. This porn novel, which may I add is nothing new just look at the books on sale at your motorway services, is due to the belief that its more "high brow"and out of the gutter, acceptable for women to enjoy when in-fact its no different to top shelf mags. Its simply a cunning plan to make money by exploiting womens sexual repression.
You could go further and say that due to free downloading on internet sites the porn DVD market which was a multi million industry is dead and that this is a cynical ploy to replace one form of porn with another that is more easily copyright protected, the hype surrounding this book which is of course one of three seems to have a huge amount of publicity, far more then the contents merit.Me thinks the men in suits are making out they,ve invented something that has always exsisted

The funny thing is that the book was born from a Twilight fan fiction. Feminists hate Twilight because a female character just happens to be saved by a male vampire and she proceeds to have normal heterosexual feelings for him....yet they applaud FSOG, in which a woman signs over her entire life to a controlling, sadistic billionaire who likes to abuse her (with her consent).

I weep because this horribly written series is a best seller.

I think that the erotic novel concept isn't really looked at as porn because it is just words, and everyone knows that videos are worse than anything written. Idk. I don't get it.

This book made me LOL very, very, very loudly.

Every time 'something' happened 'her' response is Holy S**it! or Holy Crap!

I'm not sure if I was more disappointed in the sex scenes, the overall plot or the writing.

For heaven's sake if someone wants some fun, trashy stuff to read just read the Sookie Stackhouse novels or Ashlyn Chase's supernatural stuff.
I read one page to my husband and his mouth hung open.

And for the record I do read other, less trashy stuff. Like ....zombie handbooks and novels and uhm, classics, like Pride and Prejudice and... Zombies.

I was looking forward to buying each of the books when I get paid tomorrow (yay!), having heard from my friends how great they are....

But having read the exerpts provided in the OP I don't think I'll bother.... So cheesy... If anyone is interested in real 'mommy porn' try the Black Lace books

Ive been hearing a lot about this book and clicked on the link where it shows some excerpts. All I can say is
Very cheesy and horribly written.

I definitely will NOT be buying this book but I can see how many "moms" could like this stuff. I think id rather get my ahem... entertainment... online instead

Ill check out the Black Lace stuff though... hopefully not as terrible as that 50 shades book.

Actually, most women have an issue with Twilight because it advocates staulking, abuse, and sacrificing your life to have your mans baby.

Just saying.

Reading the excerpts...if this is what sells I should pull out my little self authored stash and march straight to a publisher.

Although if you think this book contains hardcore sex acts well then mine might be a little more shocking lol.

Hmm this thread made me want to go write more....

It's true. I have been known to read "Romance Novels" and they are packaged as such. But when I read my first one, I was a tiny bit shocked myself at how ummm...dirty some get. There have been a few that I have read that I have to put up so my daughter doesn't decide she suddenly wants to read it.

It's a guilty pleasure. But why it's considered different for different genders is a bit odd. Unless they just aren't taking into account that in the women's novels (at least the one's I have read) there are no pictures or videos??
