Talk and nothing more.. Again quit blaming the US for a bilateral decision.. If it was as easy as the US dictating terms there would not be any need for "talks" now would there? Australia is a sovereign nation and is capable of making decisions, as is the US. If we ask and Australia says yes then its not the fault of the US now is it?

I think Kiwis wouldn't treat our citizens any different than our own soldiers. We are far too alike.

When the enemy looks like you it makes it psychologically harder to hate and kill them, IMO. My Grandfather was a Captain in the British Army in WWII and I remember him telling me how one Christmas Day, the British and German soldiers agreed not to fight because they both didn't want anyone to die that day. The big brass didn't know about it, but they spent the day trading cigarettes and matches and taking it easy. The only time guns were fired was when one of the battlefield commanders was on the radio to their COs, to make it sound like they were still fighting. At midnight, they went back to business.

Given the racial difference in "enemies" these days, I just couldn't see anything like that happening.

So I think if the Australian Government wanted to use military force on us, they would be better off asking for "help" from the UN, in the form of foreign soldiers who look a little bit different than the majority of Australians.

If war breaks out major destruction will most likely occur to the US in defense of Australia, as well as other countries / allies. Destroyed... Not a chance. I would agree to an extent some western government are not our friends. I say this to those who lecture the US on our debt when the US is picking up that nations bigger ticket buget items, like a national defense. I guess we could save even more moeny by not subsidizing your purchase of US military equipment as well as cut all access to advanced technologies.

Radical Islam also decided the US population was complicit, which is why those cowards attacked the civilians and not the military because it was just easier. If you feel the same way take a roll of the dice however its not a fight you are going to win.

Australia is our friend where as you - are special. While I have had discussion with Australians who dont care for the US before, your level of blind hatred leads me to believe your background is not quite 100% Australian. Do you by chance have relatives living in other countries affected by US actions in non western countries?

When you get your wish who will be around to help you guys out when you are targeted? This is what happens when you dont use logic or rationale and think things through to the end game. Based on your argument to date I know you have not thought beyond your hatred of the US, which will be your own downfall.

No. I just happen to have a social conscience. Im a good looking white guy. I have Irish, Spanish and English that I can trace. The surname is Norman ( as in the Normans / Viking ) though. Only family in contact with family in England now. Three generations Australian. I guess I am just a well informed person that is not a deluded propaganda filled lemming.

Im not entirely sure what you are scared of. Your concern about Australia becoming a target by China if hostilities break out and US troops are in Australia are naive to say the least. Do you seriously think China would not attack Australia if war breaks out even if our troops were not there? Do you not think that China knows Australia is outside the range of most, but not all, Chinese military assets? do you not think China knows Australia would become involved due to treaty obligations? Do you not think China knows Australia would be used, as it was in WWII, to be a base of operations for the region if war breaks out?

Your "well informed social conscious" is severely lacking in the realm of strategy coupled with an inability to see beyond your blind hatred, as I have constantly pointed out to you. Appeasement does not work, and if you understood history you would know this. Eventually you will become a target, and if you think you are not one now by china you really need to educate yourself.

If you were "well informed" then you would have known the troop placement is not permanent. Its a redeployment as we draw down our forces in Okinowa.
