When you complete your second class in logic and philosophy, you will gain more understanding, the first class is not sufficient for you to comprehend.... apparently.
A clear and concise answer was given to you, investigate it further and review your text if you wish to gain comprehension.
If you want me to go further, I will need to charge you tuition.

soooooo... the argument ad hominem comes out.
i am throughly nonplussed as to why this holds any sway with observers of a debate.
besides the fact that you are engaging in a logical fallacy while also attempting to question my use of logic, you are actually trying to blow up some serious voodoo-brainwash smokescreen by describing your previous fragmented argument as "clear and concise".

please, allow me to point to your inadequacies.

you have only stated two premises.
and you have in no way offered any support for these two baseless ideas, thus the description "fragmented argument".

your first attempt to dissect my argument almost consisted of two premises.
your first was that my argument was over-simplified.
this is far too.... ummm... oversimplified.
this is no different than criticizing someone for being too short, or too real.

simple is a relative term and without setting parameters, it is impossible to offer supporting statements.

your second premise stated that my argument was skewed.

Once again without a defined norm, the term skewed can mean anything and everything.

you did, however, finally at least offer two distinct premises, good job.

the first is that-
"It's oversimplified as having only two possible causes which in social contexts NEVER exists".

this is great, by the way, but you need to support this statement.

without support, your premise comes off as an opinion.
and, being that you are the logic savante, you should know to NEVER prove a negative.
it is very difficult to prove that something does not exist.

which brings me to your next premise-
"It is skewed by your own opinion of what the reason is, not based in fact since you don't know the full story".

while i will give you points for almost giving support to the premise that my argument is skewed by my own opinion, i based my argument upon all known facts.

you just engaged in the logical fallacy of the presumptive ad hoc hypothesis.

no one knows all the facts about anything.
you cannot logically invalidate my argument with an unknown.
you basically just told me that you can't think of a reason that my argument is without merit and solely based on opinion, but you feel confident that something that i don't know will prove that my argument is simply my opinion.

didn't you say something about paying me tuition?

Go back and check your premise... I'm not going to spoon feed you regardless of how verbious you may become

You can pay your tuition to me, or to your university, but you are more likely to get course credit from them... your choice

Really, think about the answer you just gave me and now apply it to what this "teacher" is teaching. Apply it to what this student knows about various issues. Apply it to how this teacher and principal treated this student. So again, who is the decider?

I respectfully disagree with you and agree with Murgatroid ...........dumbing down the masses is one of the biggest conspiracies on the planet.

Easier to control the herd.

Wonder how many books you read a year?????

How many books do you own?????

One you should buy and read after your last reply is, "The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America, Revised and Abridged Edition" by Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt

The average American no longer reads books other than porno, HP or Twilight. Book sales, particularly of really significant books are down.

Most Americans haven't a clue as to how their reps are voting, what is really going on and we as a species are in the mess we are in now because only a handful of hte really smart, elite are keeping track of what nut the shell is really under.

You can get a free copy here and it will back up we are deliberately being dumbed down. deliberatedumbingdown.com...

So you sit in the classroom each day with the OPs sister and are aware of what the curriculum is??
You were with the teacher and principal as the consequences were decided???

If not, then you are going on your opinion of the poster's opinion, not on any fact whatsoever, and that would mean you are placing yourself as the decider wouldn't it?

If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck and quacks like a duck....

perhaps it's not "dumbing down" at all, but helping them reach their full potential. Their full potential just doesn't happen to be very high....

wow...

really... wow.

you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

i very clearly presented a premise and supported this premise with two assertions based upon the known facts, while also showing in detail your lack of understanding of logic and reason.
in detail

and the best that you can do is to tell me to go back and look at my work.
that i will see my mistakes.
well let me ask you something...

why do you keep telling me to find my own flaws while also telling me that i am not capable of understanding logic.
quite the tautaulogical conundrum.
i freely give you the chance to break down my argument as i have done yours.

if you do not.

then you are clearly incapable.

Yes, I most certainly am. And until I am shown wrongdoing by the teacher, I will continue to take the teacher's side because the teacher is a trained professional who is responsible for the education of the students in her class. Until I am shown, by a direct observation or by a court of law that she is at fault, I will take her side over that of a teenager throwing a fit that "they were so meannnnn to me".

Ahh... it is so good to have the intellectually superior to decide things for us that we are incapable of deciding for ourselves. People who don't believe the same things we do simply MUST be inferior. It is good to have the intellectual and moral high ground.

Stop being a jerk, and stop filling a little ones head with info that most adults struggle to understand. She's a child. Leave her to being a child and having the innocence of such.
Im all for correct education over the norm but dont fill a wee one's mind with that sort of info let her play and enjoy her childhood, get some friends and talk to them about it.

Okay, now I am going to retract my previous statement and say that the principal may have been doing this girl a huge favor... It seems that some in the world of conspiracy would just argue over and over and over again who is wrong and who is wronger and wronger. This is becoming redundant guys. nobody is learning anything anymore.

Mods please delete this statement if it is off topic...

man... grow a pair of stones.

or my bad.

woman... thicken up that skin.

this is a debate site, right?
i know that i, personally, do not really like to engage in the whole superior/inferior trip.

i also am not a big fan of having other people decide things for me.
i like to come to a temporary conclusion about certain ideas based upon all of the known facts, which are always subject to change.

logic and reason have a structure.
they have a set of protocols that one can embrace through either induction or deduction.
and i find it to be quite fun.

this entire thread was based upon placing fault, and in all honesty, Phage said it best.

it's all about personal responsibility.

take those lemons and make limoncello.

My personal opinion is that being disciplined for something like this is just moronic. But on the other hand, I disagree with what you have been teaching her. Hear me out. Others teach that the truth is something else than what you are teaching, but if you do not make sure she knows what others think, and that they believe the same things, she may be in for a rude awakening one day...And children are still developing at this time, and you don't want to confuse her, even if only subconsciously.

And then there is the problem of teaching conspiracy theories as the "truth." Most of them do not have any proof to back them up, and therefore they should be taught as possibilities rather than as truth. That's basically my only point. So even though you weren't really asking for advice, I thought I would voice that concern to you, just in case you hadn't thought of that.

Actually, it's not really a debate site, it's a message board/conversation site...
I see why you are taking the approach you are taking now, but that's not the intent of the site

But teaching about the "contributions of gay people" to our society is? Who decides what is "age appropriate?" Are you the decider?

The only people that our obsessed with the sex life of gays - - - are straight anti-gays.

If you actually took the time to read the curriculum about introducing and accepting different families - - - you would know it includes: Interracial Couples - - Grandparents as Parents - - Interracial Adoption - - Disabled Parents - - etc - - - and yes - - same gender parents.

Kids today are very aware. By the time any school actually gets into discussing sex roles - - - the kids could probably teach the class.
