But those pilgrims who landed on Plymouth Rock were seeking freedom to worship however they wanted sure a lot is owed to the founders but which founders?

Wasn't for those pilgrims who came first those later "founders" would have never brought the change they sought.

So you think this is an affront on the women's civil liberties, and/or religious freedom??

Canadian Muslim group calls for burka ban

A Canadian Muslim group wants the federal government to ban two kinds of garments, the burka and the niqab, worn by some women.

The Muslim Canadian Congress said the garments, which cover the face, have no basis in Islam.

The group's spokesperson, Farzana Hassan, said the practice of wearing the burka and niqab is more rooted in Middle Eastern culture than in religious teachings. She added that there is nothing in the Qur'an that stipulates women must cover their faces.

She said the issue is one of public safety.

"To cover your face is to conceal your identity," she said.

A Canadian Muslim group has stated that the Burqa has no basis in Islam.

Anyone who has studied Islam knows that. The Koran merely implies that women should dress modestly.

It's funny how Religion brings out the fire eyes within people.
My superhero is better than your superhero, religious comic books with old costumes.
maybe in 2000 years times people will get in trouble for wearing a spider-man outfit in public.

RICHMOND, Va. (CBSDC/AP) — A woman dressed in a black burka was removed during President Obama’s inaugural re-election campaign stop at Virginia Commonwealth University Saturday.

Anyone who is dressed like this

is concealing his/her identity.

A crowd like this
presents a security risk unless every Burqa wearer is thoroughly searched.

Still, don't let the safety of the President stand in the way of Political Correctness...

I'm sorry, those grey ones look more like burial shrouds. At least the black one looks like formal wear with a hint of mystery...

You think someone wearing a burka is carrying a bomb? That is an racist stereotype. It is called modesty and not flaunting a hoochie mamma outfit across town to get pregnant at age 16 to collect welfare. Isn't that how things are going these days in the USA?

I call it extreme stupidity, now feel free to throw in the racist card.
Your next sentence is equally stupid

You call wearing a burqa stupidity? Well that is their religion and culture, you are entitled to your opinion however wrong it may be. You know the universe does not revolve around your thoughts.

My next sentence just shows the truth. Lets compare teen pregnancy rates here in the USA as opposed to the burqa wearing countries.

I agree with you on this. Completely. As much as I'd love another legitimate example to cite against Obama and Co., I can't see it here. I very seriously doubt Obama was even aware something happened to anyone until after the event. If he was even told then. He may not have heard until news carried it, I'm thinking.

I'd even go so far as to say, someone got their butt chewed off and handed back to them on a platter for this. Politically Incorrect seems a crime above most others these days and removing her may have been legit, but I'll bet the fact it made a single headline cost someone, big time.

In the end though, you're right. In full dress like that, she is a threat as she stands there, in relation to a security situation as tight as that around any U.S. President. Unless she was searched in detail, as you note, that can't be overlooked. If I'm not mistaken here though, a devout Muslim woman as she sure sounds to have been, wouldn't permit a search to the level the Secret Service would be doing it. So..I'll bet that is what had them showing her the door in entirely too public a way.

It's quite possible the Prez doesn't practice what he preacheth. He is not a true Christian anyway, being he is so Marxist. Or is he just not in control over what goes on around him?

Yes, as a woman i call covering your entire face&body, dumb, stupid, medieval and so on, you get the point.
No, it is not their religion it is an outdated custom, having to do with life in a desert and shielding yourself from sand, nowadays implemented by radical, weak men in order to make women invisible, non existent and not worthy.

Your comparison with USA blows my mind because you make it seem like it´s either covering yourself all the way or getting pregnant at 15 so either you don´t have sufficient knowledge on the subject or you are BS us. Why don´t you cover yourself up and practice what you preach.

I think that we are missing a huge part of this story, specifically WHY the woman was escorted out.

Was she being disruptive? Was she shouting profanities?

I doubt it was simply because of her Burka. I think there is a huge hole in this story where it would make sense to anyone if it were known.

It was the right thing to do. The President of the United States .. no matter who he or she is ... is always a target. Those burka getups are a security nightmare. Kicking her out was a rare show of common sense.

My god .. those nasty things look like death shrouds.
No living human being could possibly be happy wearing those fabric jails.
It totally goes against human psychololgy.

Good post. I'm looking to get swarmed by insults, but I really don't support that Ninja outfit unless you are on a super secret mission to save the world.

There was a case I remember with a cop pulling over a women in burka driving the car. Here it is....

Burka

What the hell are you talking about man? Are you saying they don't have teen pregnancies in Burka wearing countries? You must be joking man. The only difference is that they aren't allowed to abort...and they are often married while being teens...so I'm not sure what are you getting at.

I wouldn't go near a woman wearing a short skirt, you don't know what kind of diseases they have carrying in between their loose legs.Could be HIV, could be syphilis, could be gonorrhea, or they could be a transgendered man we seem to have those a lot in the "miss" usa contests these days..

I'd rathrer they were naked and it was a giant nudist camp, than ever ever ever see the offense to my eyes, mind, soul of a woman abusing herself, her children and everyone else in a burka.
