Moon?

Not sure, hard to tell in the pics you posted.

Pics were edited into the OP, it was the CCD fiber.

How is that trolling? The OP posted a picture and says he thinks it's something others should look at. You're the one bouncing around and trolling this thread if anyone is. I'm gonna star and flag this thread just for you boncho.

Great, now the "lens artifact" is back. I almost want to head over to GLP to see the pandemonium for myself.

So what is it this time... twin death star, plasma ball, lens artifact, alien base... what? I couldn't come to a conclusion before, so what do you have for me this time? It is in the same spot as before, larger and now (seemingly) much more of a complete sphere.

A fiber? Did you just seriously say that? When I think of a fiber, I think of a piece of a fiber string.
Does that look like a string to you? That looks more like a ball to me. And it's been slowly creeping up over the years.

boncho isn't the one calling people dummies, OP is.

Look,it's an artifact known by NASA and explained on the official website. Amateurs might not know about it, so boncho helped OP out. To ignore the facts is ignorance.

Why is the objects' face opposite the sun is lit? This has to be a glitch and nothing more.

I don't know how many times an explanation has to be posted in a thread before people actually read it.

1?
2?
3?
4?
5?
6?
7?

....

Okay....

Some artifacts are caused by defects in the cameras or optics used to take the images. The most noticeable example of a camera defect is shown below. This is a small fiber on the surface of the Charge-Coupled Device (CCD) camera for the COR2 telescope on STEREO Ahead. The total length of the fiber is just 1 millimeter.

It has been there since launch.

Most likely this fiber came off of one of the clean room wipes used during the assembly of the camera. Even though the material of the wipes is selected to shed as few particles as possible, the occasional particle does end up inside the instrument.

I can clearly see the artifact you are referring to.

However, if it was a solid 'sphere' in that vicinity of space related to the suns position its left hand side would be bright and not the right hand side.

The wrong side of the 'object' is in shadow.

4 years?

It's been there for 6 years, since launch.

I honestly don't read much of anything you post boncho, you go from thread to thread and it's pretty much one liners and unimpressive so-called debunking tripe, over and over and over and over again. You might have figured out what the object is, and you might have posted the correct answer till the page scrolls, but, gosh, is it ok with you if the others here discuss it? You posted your information, we read it, what else do you want from this thread, an apology, a move to the hoax bin, a boncho killed this thread tee shirt?

I read your link

but what ever, that # way to perfect looking to just be a mistake :\

you win you win

but its still sketchy and perfect looking in my book, even though the shadow is on the wrong side but meh sketchhhhhhy

and to stay honest on my opinion though, it looks like they took a squar eraser to the left side of it, BUT THATS JUST MY THOUGHT

Where do you get sphere from??

Go search the image browser of COR2 on STEREO Ahead and you will see it...constantly.
