The United Nations gave free reign to the United States, France and the United Kingdom, known as the P3, to intervene in Libya without any evidence of war, former president Thabo Mbeki on Thursday.
“The naked reality is that the relevant organs of the UN - the Security Council and the Office of the Secretary General - elected to betray their binding obligations in terms of international law, especially as prescribed by the UN Charter,” he said in a speech prepared for delivery.
“In this context I would like to state that there is absolutely no evidence that the (Muammar) Gaddafi regime either committed or had any intention to commit any genocide or wage a war against civilians, justifying the evocation by the UN, the P3 and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) of the so-called 'right to protect'.”

This is quite a statement coming from the ex-South African President. Then again he has never been one to toe the official line. Around 2004/2006 he and the then health minister made international headlines when they did not follow the International belief in HIV AIDS. Apparently, they believed that the antiretroviral weren’t the best solution. I will try and find the article relating to this if anybody wants it.

It is here where years of hard work by TPTB starts bearing fruit. I believe things should start happening fast now. Once the large influential countries start falling to the so-called social revolution, the rest of the smaller ones will fall like dominoes. Which just leaves the last heavyweights for the final showdown . IMO

He was getting ready to make an African Union that would trade it's oil exclusively for Gold and Gold only. He was moving to a resource based economy for his citizens, which would have done them incredible ammounts of good and established some parts of Africa as world super powers within just a few decades.

That is why they killed him.

Thabo Mbeki is an ideologue who received military training in the Soviet Union and followed socialist streams of Africanism, and he imposed AIDS denialism for a decade (1998-2008), leading to the preventable deaths of over 300 000 people.

He preached an African renaissance in which all non-African interference (at least from the non-Marxist West) was considered anathema in Africa, or other diaspora countries like Haiti.
It didn't matter if that meant defending or tacitly approving dictators in Africa (like Robert Mugabe).
Mbeki could be totally out of touch with reality, as he proved once again during the xenophobic pogroms against African immigrants in South Africa in 2008 (when local blacks burnt foreigners in the streets, and the UN had to house Somali immigrants in refugee camps). Mbeki insisted his people were not xenophobic, and that there wasn't a real problem, because he "knows" his African people.
His arm could be twisted to eventually say the right things, but its doubtful that his entourage of ministers ever acted against his wishes, and even in ANC politics he was known for paranoia, cabals and espionage.

The delusions of this man know no bounds.
He surrounded himself with sycophants and "yes men and women", and his minister of health (Manto Tshabalala-Msimang) would fire people who dared criticize the collapse of public hospitals and infant mortality in some provinces.
Largely rumored to be an alcoholic and addict (like his former health minister, who died shortly after receiving a fast-tracked liver transplant), Mbeki was eventually removed by his own party at the end of 2008.

He has some interesting theories, and is good as an Africanist academic.
However, he should never have power over people again.

With his support for Zanu-PF and other non-Western dictators he probably spoke, or practiced "quiet diplomacy" (tacit approval really, as it turned out) for much of the erstwhile regional liberation movements.

With his support for Gaddafi he also represents an ANC ideology, which is not as controversial in African circles as his AIDS denialism, or willful blindness on xenophobia in SA.

Gaddafi funded many dictators, including Charles Taylor and Idi Amin.
Propaganda says he funded Africa's poor.
What nonsense, he funded corrupt warmongers and dictators.

A now hard to find British Sunday Telegraph article revealed that Gaddafi gave millions to the corrupt ANC.
The response was quite typical for ANC double-speak: they won't admit it, but if it was so, it was justified, and then they tried to smear another party without evidence.

Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi has donated millions of pounds to a "secret election campaign fund" run by President Nelson Mandela to allow the African National Congress to win the June 2 election, the British Sunday Telegraph reported on Sunday.

According to SABC radio news reports, figures compiled by Greg Mills of the South African Institute for International Affairs revealed that the ANC had received more than 112 million pounds in overseas funding from what Mills said was "questionable sources".

ANC spokesman Smuts Ngonyama dismissed the Telegraph report as a "smear campaign" against the ANC and "whoever is making the claims... has got a sinister motive".

The ANC could not say whether it had received money from Gaddafi or not, but there was nothing wrong if it had. "Like all other political parties, the ANC receives donations," Ngonyama said.

Parties such as the Democratic Party and the United Democratic Movement received funds from "countries such as the United States, but no-one has ever queried this", he said.

The Sunday Telegraph report was a "continuation of the British media trying to choose friends for the ANC", Smuts said.
