All I know is, on MW3 if I shoot really fast I hit everything but the target and I die. If I aim exactly on them and do it in pulses, then usually I kill them before they kill me because they are also spraying bullets everywhere.

Personally I think shooting fast is the illusion of being better

But if you try and shoot accurately like you said and work your way up on speed. Then I believe that is the foundation of learning how to be better at the entire process itself

Theres a HUGE difference between shooting in a video game
and actual REAL LIFE shooting.

From what i was taught as a youngster by a front line ww2 vet
most hand gun deaths are in about the twelve foot distance
In Singapour in around ww2 the brit police found by trial and error that the best method was
EMPTY chamber safety OFF

If revolver: get the gun out, point and shoot
if semi auto: gun out, yank slide, pull trigger
repeat as necessary or slightly more so...

they got slightly better results in some cases if the forward part of the trigger gard was removed.

after adopting this basic approach the criminal to police win lose ratio improved for the police dramatically

survivors of the Argentinian financial collapse have reiterated this basic situation and solution

But what do I know
I've never been armed when in trouble
