The object would have to be as large as the Earth to block the Sun since the source of the illumination, the Sun, is larger than the Earth. Any object that large would be spotted out 340AU. That's 8x the distance to Pluto.

Im no scientist... but some seem to disagree with you...

That's a hoax site you linked to. For example they misrepresent the Piri Re’is map. They also mention Hapgood who came up with the idea to explain the map. What Hapgood did not know was that plate tectonics and paleomagnetic studies and ocean mappings were coming. Now paleoclimatic studies also show that there have been no pole shifts.

Here is a paper looking at the last 200 million years.
adsabs.harvard.edu...

The typical duration of these periods is on the order of a few tens of millions of years with wander rates during fast tracks on the order of 30 to 50 km/Myr.

That's geologically rapid. At times the pole shifted a meter a year!

As far as how three days of darkness.... in indochina a volcano erupted putting most of the northern hemisphere in ash. This was when Shelly wrote frankinstien BTW. ALSO chemtrails? or metorites?

You are referring to Tambora and that is not what happened and the volcano was in Indonesia.

I'll just have to agree with you i guess, i don't know anything about it...

Nibiru does not exist. It is a fiction created by Sitchin.

The Sun's output/CME activity is supposed to increase this year.

Actually sun spot activity increases.

And the earth changes resulting from this increase or lightening bolts or huge jumpstart in increased energy to the core, could create enormous rapid changes, or it could be slow and activate over the next few years.

The core is thousands of miles down. Solar activity and lightning bolts have no effect on the core.

If this does go supernova I wonder if this could be a possible cause for a planet-wide blackout.

A supernova even 320 light years away would appear as a very large object in the sky.

There is no magnet inside of the Earth. The magnetic field is due to convection currents inside of the Earth in the liquid part of the core. The magnetic field felt at the surface is small compared tot he field inside of the Earth. Changes in the flow of the convection currents leads to changes in the magnetic field.

I believe the core is iron...and magnetized...and that makes it a magnet...n'est pas?

Nibiru is visible in the Eastern sky about 10:00PM as a bright reddish star. It's not Mars, it's not Betelgeuse or Antares..... With a telescope it appears as a bluish black ball with two reddish tails, it has one big moon and several smaller ones. My guess is it's really a burnt out stellar core. When it gets close to earth it will cause a massive geomagnetic storm and may eclipse the sun for about 3 days due to it's concentrated gravity field. It's possible the "evil" effects of the three days of darkness is simply hallucinations due to the EMF fluctuations.

Nibiru is a fiction created by Sitchin. You are definitely looking at Betelgeuse. Antares is no where near that area of the sky. Please use something like Stellarium to figure out your mistake.

All of you do realize the more you debate this, the more chance for an idea sticking, and because of it there will be 2012 threads about 2012.. The more you water this seed the more it will grow, like for instance someone will find something that means nothing and completely stretch it out and everyone will believe it because everyone that comes to ATS is only looking for the truth in something, and will latch on to anything because they feel the need to know what they believe will happen. People believing this stuff isn't always ignorance its their own desire to believe they will know whats going to happen but still.. Maybe we should just relax.

The article you linked does not describe the change. It is very small and very hard to detect. The issue is being investigated. Does it affect the magnetosphere. Probably not since the effect is being detected inside of nuclei where the weak and strong force predominate.

The Electrical Universe is a failure. The Sun involves fusion.

Nibiru does not exist. Never has. It is a fiction made up by Sitchin.

Earth has transitioned many times, through many different frequencies ,up, down, up.

Do you have any evidence for this claim?

Nibiru and the sun are a quantum entangled complimentary pair of stars.

Since when are quantum effects detectable with macroscopic objects?

Your claims of emissions make no sense. Why consider the energy transfer from a source to the van allen belt and then to Earth when the original energy will hit Earth anyway.

This could allow hailstones to grow to basketball size

Check the weather. The largest hailstone recorded was as large as a basketball.

Surface temperatures could also drop to subzero temperatures

This makes no sense. You are claiming a high input of energy and then you claim it gets colder? Hmmm. Contradiction.

Viewing Nibiru through a telescope? Not believable. This? No.

There are actually two parts to the core. There is an inner core which is composed of solid iron about the size of the Moon. Then there is the molten outer core which is about the size of Mars. As stereologist mentioned, it is actually the outer core that produces the magnetic field. Not the inner core as many people believe.

Hapgood was a rather interesting professor of history. He was trying to figure out how an old map could show Antarctica long before its discovery. It had been and still is believed today that ancient cartographers drew in a southern continent to balance out the northern lands. Hapgood suggested that the only way an advanced civilization could exist that we do not know about today is that if all of it was hidden under the ice of Antarctica. Otherwise there would be some pots, pans, metal, artwork, whatever found someplace. So he invents a way to get Antarctica ice free. He moves the crust moving Antarctica from an ice free place to an iced over place.

See the problem here?
1. It is pretty well known why different shaped southern continents appear on old maps.
2. If you look at the map mentioned in your link you will see that Madagascar is in the wrong place. Look for other errors. Still a good map considering it was drawn using dead reckoning.
3. So instead of comparing the old maps as a group and seeing if the drawings are consistent he invents a civilization he knows does not appear to exist. The place left nothing around in any other part of the world.
4. He creates a new geological process to hide a civilization he knows probably never existed.

Hapgood goes out and out and further out on a limb instead of dealing with the data that perplexes him.

What allowed him to do that was a lack of knowledge of most of the world. The 69% of the world that lies under the oceans was not well understood at in 1950.

No.

The core is in 2 parts: outer liquid, inner solid. The magnetic field is due to convection currents in the liquid, ie outer portion of the core.

As you can see there are many problems with many of the suggestions.

I would suggest that the days of darkness are not the same or similar in the texts mentioned.

I also suggest that the authors of these texts based their ideas on what they thought would be fearful to those that read them. Another possibility is that the days of darkness is a symbolic darkening such as feelings after a bad break up or funeral or other loss.

Maybe 3 days of darkness come from feelings of realization that it was all a hoax. Fortunately, after 3 days it yippy, kippy, i, aye and back to normal.

What if the earths gravity shifted somehow and where antarctica is today was somewhere near the equator at some point in earths history?

That might account for some "disapearances" of ancient civilizations in the past...

The very best day will be January 1st, 2013. After a year of no dark days, no massive events in December, and the failure of a giant rogue brown sun crisping our planet, they can completely eradicate this pointless and laughable forum.

Why people choose to believe a people who thought it was a good idea to cut out the hearts of their own children to appease their gods (i.e. the planets, sun and moon), to make their crops grow, baffles me.
