I was not being rude to him/her but the media outlets in the UK that must have been short of stories that day.

Not really.

News is about sensationalism. With pics this is a good story to sensationalize.

Like the Watt's riots - - which was very isolated - - my relatives in Ohio reading sensationalized news feared for our lives - - as they thought all of the Los Angeles area was under siege.

The OP's reaction is justified as the only knowledge to him/her is what the news presented.

Your post addressed "the guys" being at fault - - not the media for sensationalizing.
