I found this really interesting. This find claims to be the location where John the Baptist baptized christians. It has 28 steps that leads to a pool of water, with pottery shards found within the cave itself.

Very interesting. Although according to scripture, this is not where he would have babtized Jesus. There was a dove (a representation of the Holy Spirit) who descended upon the site where Christ was babtized. That couldn't have happened in a cave.

I think it was the temporary abode of a real potter.They found all the clay shards,and the steps lead down to the banks where clay might have been abundant.Saving a few steps. Sheesh!
