Making an avatar is easy (Simple How To)

Everyone on ATS seems to think making an avatar here is harder than any other website. I'm here to tell you there wrong I'ts actually quite easy just follow these easy steps :

1) Login to ATS
2) Click on "Tools+"
3) Scroll down to My Avatar
4) Open new tab
5) Go to Google
6) Click "Images" in the top left hand corner
7) Type "Small GIF" Then whatever you want to be your avatar
8) Choose Image and click on it
9) On the far right side there will be a large white box that says Google Images at the top. In this box check to make sure the file type is GIF and the full size Image is no larger than 160 pixels wide, by 320 pixels tall
10) Click on "Full Size Image"
11) Drag and drop your chosen picture in full size onto you desktop (You can delete this later)
12) Go back to your ATS tab and click on "(upload avatar)" right beside your avatar URL (Witch should still be blank)
13) Now click on "Upload Photo"
14) Click "Choose File"
15) Now find your picture from your desktop and click on it then click "Open"
16) Click the small green button that says "Add Photo!"
17) Click on your picture
18) Scroll down to where It says "Use as ATS Avatar" and copy what it says in the text box
19) Go back to your original ATS tab and paste in the avatar URL text box
20) Click Submit and enjoy your new avatar

to be fair 20 steps IS more complicated than most forums....

Those are not the right avatar dimensions.

These are

avatar size

Also these are confusing directions.

No problem at all but just letting you know that small posts like that are not allowed on ATS. Please read the BEFORE YOU REPLY section of where you comment. And one last thing If you have any questions Please post them here and I will try to answer them.

Once you have 20 posts, (which is so easy to achieve a monkey could manage it) you can start your own threads.

A mod will most likely delete this, just a heads up.

Did I blame you?? No I didn't so don't accuse me.

Second there are many different threads with size guidelines and they get updated at different times. As far as I know this is the most recent size. IF it has been changed since then I haven't seen it and my avy hasn't been affected so can you link to me where you saw these?

Also you are posting this in an introduction forum? How are you all of a sudden an avatar expert your first day?

I was only posting the dimensions because I had problems and have since fixed many avy's for people who ask in various threads or in chat. I use my flickr account to resize and it takes mins for me to do it and I don't mind helping. I had a horrible time with avy size when I joined.

What brought you to ATS to begin with? Sure it wasn't to give avatar advice

Do you prefer certain topics over others?

Your right I'm no kind of expert I just Learned how to this morning And as for favorite topics I love and believe in ancient aliens I study a lot of conspiracy's involving the government and blame E.T.'s for most paranormal activity
