Here we go again. The age old talking point about race exploitation and denial of voting rights and that the conservatives are looking to once again abuse minorites during the election.

Conservatives/constitutionalists are interested in ensuring that voters actually have the franchise to vote prior to voting. Everyone does not possess the franchise. Everyone who does posess the franchise, unfortunately to some only has one vote.

The Democrat party has consistently supported making voting more subject to fraud. Motor Votor, no checking of identification when voting, no police near a polling place, no need for formal address to vote, loose absentee voting requirements, no district requirements, pulling voting into places of business. Interesting that they are the same political party that always seems to have trouble collecting overseas military ballots.....

We have an attorney general who has explicitly approved of policys that ensure that voter intimidation suits brought forth by Whites will not be pursued as a matter of policy. Black Panthers, get on your unis and grab your pipes and head to a polling place near you!

This tired old canard about how somehow implementing policies that ensure that folks who are voting have the right to vote and vote once somehow infringes upon the rights of the poor and minorites is offensive and is a direct assault on our democracy.

This will hit fever pitch by election day and I predict violence at polling places around the country. There is currently a grass roots, conservative movement to get volunteers at every polling place in the country. Should that happen and the incidents of poll workers voting for retarded voters, reading ballots to illiterate voters, etc, it will be a disaster.

Ironic that the first post-racial President will preside in a period of increase in racial tensions in the country.

Those were just the nice gents telling voters where the free coffee was at the polling place.

They were using those galvanized pipes to stir the vats of coffee. No harm intended and if any was interpreted, those folks who intrepreted it were being racist for assuming that tall gents waving pipes about and telling folks to get out of the polling place were doing anything other than supporting democracy.

Now stand a few blocks down the road under an American flag and attempt to hand out flyers on a conservative candidate and that's voter intimidation.

One of my favorites is when they misprinted the ballot and named a candidate, Rich Whitney, "Rich Whitey", but I'm sure that was an honest mistake.

Don't we all know that no matter what mainstream candidate white house the outcome would have been the same. Do you think John McCain would have dont anything different except maybe have ground troops in Libya like he wanted? Do you think John Kerry would have dont anything different than the corporate welfare policies of Bush?

Do you really think voter intimidation will affect the outcome of our country? It isn't right, but there is nearly no use complaining about it.

Sure the dems use Race (and sex) to further polarize both sides, this is nothing new, but I would rather not see fellow ATSer's fall into the divide and conquer partisan dialogue that the oligarchs want.

both sides are equally guilty of voter fraud.

Thats the beauty of the current model. With provisional ballots, absentee ballots, overseas ballots, disputed ballots you are guaranteed to not have an accurate counting of the vote and, however sloppy they will be able to back into the number they want and find excuses when the numbers don't pencil.

You're right in that both sides do it. What is dispicable is this notion of even looking to ensure fair voting on one side is assumed to be voter intimidation and discrimination.

Let both sides stick with having dead folks vote and paying bums with liquor to vote and see who can be the best at that and be done with it.

As long as dems support affirmative action they can't call other people racists. In fact AA is double racism since it's the persecution of white people justified by the idea that blacks can't make it on their own.
