NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- A woman who had just been involved in a domestic dispute loaded her four children into a minivan before letting one out and driving the rest of them into the Hudson River north of New York City, firefighters said. The woman and three young children were killed.
The 10-year-old boy who had been let out of the minivan last night ran to a nearby fire station and alerted firefighters, Chief Michael Vatter said. The boy told firefighters his mother had driven off a boat ramp in Newburgh, about 60 miles north of New York City, and into the murky water of the river, Vatter said. In

This is sick. This is in Orange County, NY. I work EMS in Orange County but a little further west and one of our local Fire departments got called over to help out with their divers and air boat.

If she wanted to off herself, she could have left the kids at home. Those poor kids were 11 months, 2 and 5...what could they have possibly done in their short lives to deserve this?

That's just down right horrendous. Like the other poster said, why did she have to take 3 other lives with her?

I'm guessing it was to get back at the husband. Seems like she let the 10-year-old out to get the story spread and make the husband feel guilty for whatever he did wrong.

It's about time we ban these unnecessary vehicles.
