A question about edits

Hello, I was wondering why you can only edit a post four times? In my Thread I want to keep updating the information coming in so that anyone new to the story could quickly catch up without searching pages for links. Also I messed up the heading and now can't fix it .

I don't think there is any limit on the number of edits but there is a TIME limit..

If you have good reason to edit outside that time then I suggest you ask a mod by using the alert feature..
I have done that before and if justified, they will act..

On this forum, are we allowed to make post directing after starting a thread, as a 'space saver' as sorts. To edit later and add in content. I know some other forums allow that.

As mentioned, there's a time limit. You can always add additional info as another post in the thread, or ask a mod to make the desired edit.
