It can get pretty hypocritical some time in here by those that supposedly make the rules.

"Those That Supposedly Make The Rules" heh.

Watch "TTSMTR" censor this euphemism or delete this post.

And as so obvious it was, so it just proves the point, this is a light socialist website that some times lean over to the extreme side from time to time.

I had a post deleted because I told some dork to read the thread first before making a dumb comment, then I called him a "dummy".

The problem is we have an oversensitive site with crybabies that will rat you out at the drop of a dime.

So basically it's like the real world.

The ones that have the power to "Delete" must be pro Obama.

It's people like you that want to spew their selfrightous ideology, strip the freedom from us Patriots and steal the money from our hard earned pockets. Why don't you pencil necked geeks go back to whatever commie country that you came from. We freedom loving Sons of Liberty don't need your kind of people telling us what to do. [Sarcasm]

Just a little illustration of what I see happening on ATS all to frequently, as ideologies solidify and reason evaporates.

Personally insults don't bother me at all but I do find it very sad that some people feel the need to categorize and marginalize others because of their own feelings of inadequacy and/or fear of differing opinions.

How ATS has changed! Once I was given a "red flag" [I miss the red flags] and a point deduction for calling someone a "mook" Now I see outright profanity being allowed; not even trying to evade the censors.

Actually, they really dont delete based on left or right wing issues, in general. There are plenty of right wingers foaming at the mouth on this website, as well as liberals.

If you call someone a "dummy" you run the risk of getting it deleted. Its against the TnC to attack the person, rather than the subject. Im not saying many of us do not push up against that boundary, because we do. But when you get your post deleted, be realistic about WHY that is the case. And if you have done something in that post that is against the rules, dont try to blame it on discrimination, just suck it up like the man or woman or indeterminate human being you are and move forward.

You are correct that different mods have different tolerances for pressing up against the boundaries, but they are human. Different people see things differently, and you arent going to get across the board godlike fairness from people who are essentially volunteers. While I do not support their every decision, they do a pretty good job 99% of the time.

If you get so offended that you lock yourself into a position where you are attacking ATS itself, you will not make yourself any happier. Take an ATS break, go enjoy the beautiful spring weather, and come back ready to do battle once more. While not a perfect site, ATS IS by far, the best conspiracy site on the internet.

I wouldn't go as far as to say 99 percent of the time. And yes your right, it's spring, time to get away from this stuff and back to what matters most.
Have a good one.

You are right. 99% of the time IS too generous, and it only takes one abusive mod to make it SEEM like the whole system is rotten to the core.

Although I do know that it isnt.

It would be nice, however, if abuses of power were at least corrected rather than allowed to stand.

Apparently the phrase "people like you" is a community approved insult as I see it used so often and frequently against me.
I would rather have the most profane and filthy insults leveled against me than be segregated, marginalized and discounted as unworthy to even be considered. Why is that type of insult so often ignored?

Well, people like me might agree with that sentiment. However, in this particular instance of 'people like you' as an insult, it's a contested issue among staff and which may require some time to reach a consensus on.

If I used the "people like you" insult on mods, staff or three amigos the ban hammer would fall so fast it would make your head swim.

However I will continue to complain and continue to be ignored.
