Since the Late 80's I have been watching with dismay at this country's political antics as many of you have. I found this website, kinda goofy site, but good info with links. Here is a recent post detailing 28 reasons there is something wrong with this country. By the numbers.

28 reasons there is something wrong with the US

The article doesn't really tell me anything new.

The popular uprisings in Wisconsin and Ohio and everywhere else is all about economic justice and we have just begun to fight. Indeed, entertainment has been the "opiate of the people" and even a shaper of public policy for a long time now. The Romans used to call these distractions "bread and circuses," but in our country even the bread is being withheld. Still, the sleeping giant has now been awakened.

Unlike the tea party, this popular rebellion does not call people to get their guns and kill everybody who doesn't agree with them. It is using legal means and the tools of democracy in order to achieve their goals.

If the corporate powers succeed in their total domination of the country, I can't guarantee that even I will not consider "second amendment remedies," to steal a phrase.

Sestias...

Love the comments, and I take them to heart even more after realizing you too are an atlas shrugged fan. As many people may have guessed during the dawning of the 1900's with the revelation like books of '1984' & 'Brave new world' there seem to be competing forces at work here, those with the socialist agenda, and those with the capitalist agenda. But what most people don't realize is that the same people are pulling all the strings. Good to talk with with you hope to here more..

Economic justice
!!! That’s funny.

Its about robbing Peter (the non public sector tax payer) to pay Paul (public sector workers). God for bid public unions should take wage and benefit cuts like their private sector counterparts.

Are you sure about this statement? Are you aware of the countless death threats aimed at Wisconsin legislators by the very people you are praising?

I recall a very large and very peaceful Tea Party Rally in DC. I also recall the protests in Wisconsin, the broken windows and the storming of the proverbial castle. Anyone clean up all of the fecal remains left by the protesters in Madison yet?

I actually agree with the first part of your comment though.

With all due respect SirMike, this is one of the biggest fallacies being hoisted on the American public. Fact is the public workers in Wisconsin WERE willing to concede on wage and benefit cuts. The you-know-what hit the fan with them when the Governor wanted to take away their collective bargaining rights. For that I don't blame them.

Peace.

Don't sweat it too much there's a total andcomplete conservative hate-fest going on right now here.

If "we conservative? /libertarians(?) et al used the same name calling, labeling, stereo typing and unsupported statements against gays or illegal immigrants we'd be banned. The libs feel so superior yelling back and forth to each other how bad the other side is they don't realize nobody else is listening...

You're right. I've seen plenty of good members banned after taking the bait from these folks who always manage to rise above the flotsam.

I totally agree. As being a member of those demonstrators, trying to assure the people rights to obtain fair wages and benefits. Personally though I was more mad about the 'selling off' of Wisconsin's public utilities in a 'no-bid' contract to the Koch brothers. I guess I was even more mad at the fact that other Republicans from other states were advising our Governor to commence false flag events to win sympathy, that is what I believe was behind the 'death threats'. But nobody is talking about these things anymore. Nor is it barley mentioned that the law was published against the ruling of the Wisconsin courts., MY question is this if 'they' don't follow the law why do we have to??

hope4better,

Absolutely true! When those public utilities mysteriously end up in the hands of the Koch brothers I have a feeling things might get a bit weird in Wisco. The false flags forced one Indiana prosecutor to resign. My question is: why the HELL isn't he going to jail???????????

My God, that is textbook terrorism. And he's forced to resign.

Finally, I want to thank you for participating in the demonstrations. I am not a union worker, but I 100% stand with the good folks in Wisconsin who will fight for their rights.

Salute!
