Regret, loss for a Japanese hero (Video, CNN)

I searched for this and could not find it. I saw this just now and this is the first video that made me feel sad enough for my eyes to tear up. This grandfather, Kenichi Suzuki lost his entire family in the tsunami, wife, son and grandchildren. He wasn't with them was because he had set out to save other people by closing a tsunami wall.

NHK reports on a firefighter who continues the rescue effort knowing his family is gone.

Heartbreaking...

So so sad. That poor man. He did what he thought was right at the time and I hope he doesn't torment himself forever, it wasn't his fault. He tried to save lives, how could he have known that he'd lose his whole family instead
I hope that one day he finds peace.

I saw this last night and made me feel so helpless. Why does this happen to people like him.
