Nuclear power is a perfect example of why the "free market" is not always logical.

Wouldn't you think after Three Mile Island and Chernobyl we would be prepared?

Plenty of Comparisons available... Go ogle

When you think about how devastating and everlasting the effects of nuclear disasters are it would seem logical to take extreme precautions. We could make them far more indestructible if we really tried.

Again, the problems caused by these mistakes are going to last an incredible amount of time, people will pass on contamination to their children and the environment will never be the same (both the local and global environment).

But what would prevent people from making a nuclear power plant indestructible?

Money.

The simple fact is that for a corporation the risk might be worth it for extreme profits in the short run.

Are these risks worth it to the human race as a whole in the long run?

What good does insurance do if the human race and planet are permanently polluted with radiation?

1. This goes beyond national politics. Think globally.

2. Is it still the worst?

But Chernobyl was built on the cheap, which is capitalism at its best.
