Tollbooth tyranny

Wow, FL is at it again, violating people's right to travel.... Detaining and harassing people for using bills over 10 bucks to pay an extorionate toll. Way to go FL, you are on a roll.

and you just know even if this class action hits, nobody will be fined or go to jail, they will just be cautioned.

....i cant wait to see if anything actually comes of this.

Jesus crap! I live in FL. They would not like my answers to their questions one bit.

We really are turning into the old Soviet Union.

If I pay a toll with legal tender, no matter how large the bill, they should swipe it with a pen to make sure it's legit and do their damned jobs. That does NOT include an interrogation.

Sooner or later, I am going to wind up in jail. I am resigned to that.

If we don't actively challenge this kind of nonsense with mass non-compliance we might as well just put collars on ourselves and save them the trouble.

Refuse to use their toll roads - or -
Everyone pay with large bills!

They are violating your God given rights in doing this.
Government doesn't give you your rights but only you can surrender them.
Many more people than yourself are mad as hell about this.
If we don't fight back they will always win.
If you go to jail for it let me know and I will help you raise bail.

Thanks Ask - I might need it! I can't believe this crap. I am coming up on fifty, and this is just not world I signed up to defend. How did this happen? Once I was a young naval officer, defending the best country on Earth. How did I let this happen?

Guess not many FL people come here? Or no one cares that they might get the fifth degree for having more than ten bucks? Then again I remember that a lot of FL people thought checkpoints were a swell idea as well a while back lol.

I live in FL as well. I have the "sunpass", so I don't have to stop and talk to these goons. This is around Orlando though as my commute is through the Tampa area.

I haven't heard of this happening around Tampa. I also think there was a previous thread on this already, but it was a while back if I remember correctly.

Regardless, yes it is disturbing.

I don't know why people even stop at them things. I go to Chicago a couple of times a month and my Epass has been empty for a couple of months and I never get a bill.
