This man did not create the videos or images. He just was in possession of them. He had posted them to about 75 different sites online and thus could be charged with distributing them. He had over 6000 images and over 100 videos on his laptop.

Apparently the images and videos were mostly of adolescent preteen males. The fact that the preteens shown are real people, not made up cartoon characters or something similar, this case has more import to me. Still, the reason I posted about this is because this man did not create these images or video's, he was merely in possession. I agree it's heinous and ugly that a man would have these kinds of images and videos AND also have been a school bus driver putting children at risk, but the reality is that the only crime he's committed is possessing disgusting videos and images and trading them with others which in technical terms is distributing.

I will stay on topic and not even discuss how sick this is.

pleading guilty Jan. 14 to four counts of encouraging child sexual abuse.

I do agree with this wording though. Aside from possessing them, his sharing of them and posting links on 70 different sites, does promote and encourage the people who are creating these videos and images to continue to do so. This in a way is more of an accessory to the crime, than someone who just views them. As far as the harshness of the sentence, I wont say if I think it is justifiable or not. I do agree that the people creating these videos and images need to be stopped and deserve a harsher punishment than this man, if they are to be caught.

Personally I don't think it is enough punishment.

Child Porn is illegal. Period.

This is hardly a case of 'oops I clicked the wrong link', he got these from 75 different sites. 6 THOUSAND images and countless videos.

By possessing and distributing videos like that, he's helping to enable the victimization of children. My view is that by distributing those videos, he's an accomplice after the fact in every single one of those child molestation cases.

On a side note, I do feel like seven years is enough. It's unspeakably disgusting, but kiddie porn is definitely not something that you want to go to prison for.

it does seem crazy in the context that people get less for killing someone,,,, for taking a life that is gone forever



is it better he looks at pictures than actually acts on it???

either way he is sick and i think it is a disorder, disease like alcoholism

and of course i'd be furious and think totally different if my kids rode his school bus
