Personally I don't believe Khamenei ordered the assassinations or possibly even had anything to do with it. The possibility of this being a US-Israel led frame against Iran, an obviously noted enemy, is quite possibly real. Do not dive head first into this believing whatever they tell you simply because Iran has been taught to be a threat to us in the West.

The anti-Iranians here forget the fact about who controls the UN and it's definitely not Iran. They have already been sanctioned and even more sanctions are currently being called for as Iran refuses to back down to Western imperialism.

What are the chances that a UN report finds Khamenei, the leader of Iran, guilty of ordering an assassination of the relatively pro-Western leader of Lebanon just months after UN sanctions led by the West and constant war mongering by Israel? I smell a conspiracy.

But to be fair as we always should there is a great possibility this report is true and Khamenei did order the assassination but at that point do you really think it's possible for the international community to arrest the Supreme leader of Iran?

They just keep on poking the animal with a big stick. Just keep on a poking, it will strike(bite), then the animal will have to be put down. War with Iran is inevitable.

Interesting. Anything from a less biased source on this? The MSM from a country with a pathological hatred of Iran (Such as all four sources listed on Google News right now) doesn't seem like it would be likely to adopt a neutral point of view.

This is probably about as credible as the 'intelligence' about Saddam's WMD's.

Recent events in Lebanon ( Lebanon reels as Hezbollah topples government ) are thought to be because the inquiry had been engineered to lay the blame squarely with Hezbollah, I don't think anyone expected them to try to blame Iran as well.

Amazing they didn't somehow work North Korea into the mix.

I do... Hezbullah takes its orders mainly from Iran and to a lesser extent Syria. Syria was torqued about being forced to withdraw their troops from Lebanon a few years ago, and ever since Hezbullah funding and support from those 2 countries have increased.

Couple the above with the downfall of the Lebanese government....

I'd would say things are on a collision course in the Middle East. If Hezbullah takes the reigns as the new government for Lebanon, then any missle attack against Israel, and any Israeli response to that, will no longer be between a sovereign nation and a group. Instead its going to be a conflict between two sovereign nations.

If Syria and Iran are allied with Lebanon (which they will be as soon as Hezbullah puts their new government in place) then the justification exists for those 2 countries to come to the aid of Lebanon.

This is going to go downhill pretty quick.
