what do the numbers and letters on the left under our profile names mean when in a forum?

not sure what w and k are although have always wondered

P is posts, S is stars, F is flags and Im not sure what the other ones are.

Oops, looks like someone beet me to this post. And I guess W is "WATS Index:" whatever that is, I just saw it on my profile.

And the "K" is for "Karma".


I'll add this second line for posterity.

I'm glad someone finally asked that question the K and W are a mystery to me as well. Hopefully a Mod stops by and enlightens us all.

W means WATS Index whatever that is. Not sure what K means. Kudos?
If you click on your profile name in any thread, scroll down the page and it says on the left. It doesn't say what K stands for though.

Maybe it stands for "kills" when you cross the like and they delete the post.

im suprised noone seems to know what they mean.. i thought it was just me..

K = Karma. It's an algorithm that weights stars, points, flags, posts, stuff like that to give you kind of a 'usefulness' score. I beleive Karma is weighted so that flags (which are only earned on threads you start) don't copunt as heavily so if you're not a thread starter kind of person you don't get penalized. It's a secret formula!

No clue as to the W or K either. I have tried to find out but to no avail.

I also have noticed in the profile section there is one that says "applause". How does one go about giving or receiving this one?

The W is for WATS it is your ranking in quality against other members, I think.

The K is definitely for Karma, I'm not entirely sure but I think it has something to with your number of posts v. your number of threads. Not everyone is thread starter happy so they're overall points tended to be lower because they mainly replied to threads started by someone else. I think it was ats's way of throwing us a bone.

P is how many PEOPLE you have annoyed
F is how many FRIENDS you have
S is how SILLY other posters think you are
W is how many threads you have WON
K is a random number generated just so people keep asking what K means

As you can see from my stats people think I am quite silly and very annoying

Currently you numbers would put you in a very low class, very low indeed - a typical role for someone of your worth will have you working aprox 85 hours per week in a smelly and or noisy and dangerous working environment, the best you could ever hope for with such a lowly status index would be a job as a man hole cover polisher, you would spend every working minute polishing the underside of the man hole covers, and so as for the better people to not accidentally see you, you will spend al day in the sewerage system polishing the underside of the man hole covers from the inside.

This is the real meanings of those numbers, as you can see if you look to the left I have attained just enough of a society index to place my self in the upper lower middle class, where I will probably be your boss, I will make life a living hell for you as my frustration's of life will be displaced unto the people below me.

Not true. You just got here. Your W score is low, but look at your K score. That's exactly what I was saying above. Quality posts boost your K score. Quality threads boost your W score. It's no big deal, really, except over time kind of sort of might give an indication of your contribution to the site. Not something to obsess over, really.
