Remarkable thing about Coup d'etat is that no citizens will ever know it actually happened. I recently talked to my dad about his past life. He lived in a time period in a new democratic country where a military general successfully initiated a coup d'etat...

From my brief historical understanding was that a coup d'etat would be a very open, obvious change of the government which is noticeable to all the citizens.... well at least that is my understanding from history classes...

So recently talking to my father, he said when coup d'etat happened in his country, NO ONE HAD A CLUE THAT IT HAPPENED!!! Not him who was in college at that time. So I said you didn't know or care because you were young.....I asked were there riots and chaos???? He said no...
He said that nobody in the whole country knew because all the media was secretly taken over.... He told me that even the government officials like the senators or congress didn't realize they have been taken over by a coup....(well he told that few few few top government officials did suspect a coup but couldn't do anything about it...)

So I realized that a TRUE COUP D'ETAT is something that NO ONE/NOBODY in the country will know about!!!!

I believe in a successful coup d'etat, our way of life would continue as normal as any day... Nobody will suspect of anything different. Thus a possibility of an existence of secret organization......

Listen to Kennedy's speech on secret organizations (I am sure most on ATS heard this)....

If he didn't know and no one else knew about the coup de etat save for a select few high in office, then how does he know that it ever happened?

why would President Kennedy talk about secret organizations using hidden subversive tactics to control???

Even as a President/Commander in Chief, Kennedy couldn't do anything about it...therefore giving a public speech to the US citizens of secret organizations which he could not, in his power, deal with...????

It appears President Kennedy revealed it during the State of the Union Address in Congress.

What do you guys think?

It was eventually realized years later.... Indicating that it was a failed coup!

A successful coup will never be known! (in my opinion)

From an outside perspective I think you are chasing after burnt ashes.

It happened in the USA almost a decade ago. By this point the coup should be obvious enough to anybody with eyes to see.

I think its happened several times in US history, in different ways.

Most of the presidents in the late 1800s were simply puppets of huge trusts like the Rockafeller's Standard Oil and railway interests, etc. There's pretty good evidence Rutherford Hays (19th president) stole the election outright.

Then we come to 1913 and the creation of the Federal Reserve. That may have been the most significant coup of US history.

Kennedy, another one, very possibly.

And perhaps even more recently....

When you finance and train entities like the CIA in the art of de-stabilising and overthrowing foreign Governments what in gods name makes people think they wont overthrow their own?

Bush Sr, Bush Jr (daddies mouthpiece), Obama, H. Clinton, ex CIA.
They are just using/following ex-KGB Vladimir Putin’s model

There are probably more in the US Govt that have worked in the CIA.

Me too, I think the coup happened with the Financial Reserve. There's an interesting, easy to read, potted history of the banks organised by year, called 'History of the 'Money Changers' on: www.iamthewitness.com...

JFK and Julian Assange have a lot in common, hopefully not too much - for Assange's sake.

Star and Flag.

Kennedy assasination was a coup d'état. It is obvious a president was assasinated but the official story and "magic bullet" is an indication something more happened then. Decades later that story is gaining acceptance.

Sometimes the coup is obvious, other times not. When power shifts abruptly and out of accord with normal proceedure it is a coup. When events occur that permits leadership to take unprecedented and radical courses of action one should suspect a coup.

I would agree about the coup d'etat happening under the noses of most Americans.
Why? Because the MEDIA is fully controlled by Corporate Interests and the Media does what they are told to do, period. I am listening to Tim Turner right now talking about Restoring the Republic, and ending the Corporate Democracy. America is not a Socialist Nation, nor is it a Corporate Nation. It is a Sovereign Nation.
TPTB have went too far this time, and the House of Cards is about to fall. We will see a change up in Leadership in all three Branches of government. We will see a new form of exchange, or money. We will see a complete change in Taxation. The IRS will disappear, along with the Income Tax. The War on Drugs will end, along with the War for Oil. Many changes coming.

I kept thinking the last administration's job, like the business ventures he had been involved in, was to crash the economy, break the US, and put it out of business in order to end entitlements or obligations. We survived it, mostly.

Most of the things you mention I would like to see go away. Unfortunately, that would also likely mean my retirement pension too would disappear along with the Social Security I have not begun to draw, though I and my employers paid into for forty years. My savings likely would also go away with the rest of it.

At least now I live in a country where it is customary to own your own home outright, which I do.

I wasn't going to mention it in this thread, but it is exciting stuff isn't it?

Kennedy's election may have been fraudulent.

No one, at least on ATS, ever likes to talk about that though.

how about another "strange" "odd" "controversial" speech given by a former US president, who ended up nearing being killed by an assassination attempt...

always remember and realize that only a failed, unsuccessful coup will be written in our history books.

A true and successful coup d'etat, will never be known to anyone of us!!!

This is where the distinction is made. A failed coup that we read about in our history class, versus a successful coup that we will never know about.

I don't know about you, but I find President Kennedy's and Reagan's speech highly highly highly unusual.......

If either of these speech were to be given in the year 2010-2011, what would the public say about this?
