They knew the legal challenge would go this way.
it has been mentioned daily by pundits ever since obama care was first proposed.
They set up the system to collect for four years before it begins to pay out.

What if they plan to collect for four years and then just before the pay out...
oooopsi

Oh the bankers got the flew (away money signs)...again
Sorry, banks are the only ones that its constutional to give health care to

Yeah, we said that kids with pre existing conditions would be covered and it turns out they aren't..
if thats the case...
I wouldn't put anything past us.

Dont get your hopes up. More than 10 other courts in other states threw the case out. I trust the republicans will try to trash it and come up with some bill that makes the rich insurance compasnies richer.

Was a joke and a waste of funds to begin with. Guaranteed to be a topic next prez debate about how hard Dems tried to get healthcare for everyone and Republicans wouldn't let them. More wine and cheese please.

Dont count your chickens yet. This is going to be appealed to the US Supreme Court, and the Government is going to make the argument, as they did in this court case, that its a tax. If the Justices buy into that argument, its not going anywhere.

My question is, and I have not seen this addressed anywhere, is how the Government would know who does and does not have insurance. Absent a new and intrusive Federal Database contining info on every American, I dont see how they could charge a person who does not have it.

Which to me seems more of a problem than the healthcare bill itself.

Well thats the problem in a nutshell isn't it; this bill adds provision opening all financial and medical records to all govt officials: no warrant necessary. It adds 160,000 new IRS agents and a reporting clause: any business expenditure of $600.00 wil require filing a 1099form with the gov.. I 've always held its about "CONTROL"(and revenue generation) not "health care". But I'm a greedy stingy conservative what do I know...
Obama gets up there and says with a straight face :" You can keep your current plan! ( knowing full well he means " until your insurance company quits dealing in insurance.) and you have no choice but to go with the govt options.

*YAWN*

Do you honestly think the Insurance companies are going to let this mandate go away?

They WANTED the mandates. They lobbied for them.

Somehow all of this gets lost in the "damn you government" rhetoric. Deals were made because there weren't enough votes for a public option.

No way this gets repealed. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does not matter one iota if it is deemed Constitutional or not.

It will NOT be funded.
It will NOT be enforced.
There will be states and millions of us telling the government to take a flying leap.

Yeah, looks like the leftists are screaming for forcing people to do things.
Ain't that JUST TYPICAL.
Who is it that keeps calling the conservatives fascists? Oh, that would be the fascists on the left. They go well with the socialists and the communists. Hypocritically typical.

I wonder when the leftists are going to say something about the call for road, bus station, train station etc, TSA now? Oh, they will not, they back the tyrants, they like people like Bush, Clinton, Obama telling them what to do, what to spend their money on, where to go to school, how much to eat, etc, etc, etc.

Now, who has been saying all along that the leftists have ALL THE TYRANTS?

If ANYONE, for one moment believes the federal government has the RIGHT to force you to buy something, get the HELL out of my Republic.

This bill needs to go away.. I dont mind the Government trying to fix Healthcare, but not in the manner they are doing it now.

I found a comment that perfectly sums up the backwards policies of President Obama, Pelosi and Reed

"They want every citizen to prove they have insurance, but people don't have to prove they are citizens"

This is a very good point, and I have to say, a very frightening prospect at that! We all know that the government has numerous ways in which they keep track of us citizens and as such, they keep adding new and interesting ways to expand this pursuit of personal information!

Trust me, they will find a way to know exactly who does and does not have insurance! AND they will find a way to make it seem as though it is in the country's best interest
!!

What is it with governments making unconstitutional laws these days?

Only a couple of months ago, our State Premier here lost a High Court appeal trying to pass a law against the people (for spin, it was the "bikies") after the Supreme Court also ruled it unconstitutional.

Funny, Obama manages to dig deep to reach compromise with the tax issue and now he says he is "itching for a fight" with the GOP next year. The boy never stops long enough to do his job. I suppose he should prepare to fight the courts and the majority of people of this country FIRST on the obamacare issue before he plans his middle school style revenge hit on the Reps. in congress next year.

The man does one decent thing in two years and now has to redeem himself to his liberal fan base.

Obamacare, is slowly beginning to sink.

Obama needs to worry about our relationships with other countries, and spend some time drumming up business for the US economy. Congress is responsible for the day to day perations of this country, and they need to concentrate on that.

This partisan politic BS is pissing everyone off. Why is it so difficult for the DEms to say lets explore universal healthcare, and the Rebublicans to go ok. Bring all the ideas, find ones both sides agree on, and work with the rest to find middle ground or compromise.

Our congress spends more time attacking each oither or passing useles proclmations about sports teams rather than do their jobs.

I say if no headway is made, we vote them all out of office in 2010. Give some of the newbs a shot at trying to fix things.

Are you that bored that you must now fall back on race baiting and making mountains out of mole hills?

Until he finally man's up to his decisions and to the office that he holds I will call him a boy. He can't handle criticism from the right and now he can't handle it from the left. He needs to stick to his guns and stay on a course that is best for this nation, not the best for those who put him into power.

He's slowly getting it as witnessed by his use of Bill Clinton as his mouth piece. Kind of reminds me of Spike and Chester. Obama as Chester of course.

Nice back pedal. Can you ride a unicycle too?

Not bored, just checking the rampant veiled bigotry that often permeates this topic.

BTW, nice cartoon.
