Wow!
Your mood must be relaxed, I can't believe I haven't heard this before. It reminds me alot of Boards of Canada!
Just great!
I think you will love this one Katie.
I love too much music, it was hard enough to narrow it down to six bands. I think some of the music I listen to is considered to be on the outer
fringe of what's considered "normal" to some people, so I've been told, but I like it weird. I don't really know what genre any of these bands
are considered to be, some of them I don't think can be explained in mere words, like Sigur Ros. Trying to assign a genre to Sigur Ros...is like
trying to put the contents of Pandora's box back into the box. I think these bands transcend genres. They can be many different things in any given
second. As for why I like them...I really enjoy stuff with philosophical songwriting paired to beautiful and sometimes unusual music. I like for music
to not only move me, but move me to think. A lot of my artwork (which is my day job, what I went to school for, and my hobby all at the same time) is
inspired by the music I listen to, so it is vital to me in that sense, a part of who I am and what I want to convey through my work.
Sunset Rubdown - Us Ones in Between
Wolf Parade - I'll Believe in Anything
Cloud Cult - Pretty Voice
Sigur Ros - Njosnavelin
Beirut - Nantes
Bon Iver - The Wolves, Act I & II
I like my music with an extra dose of feeling, since we live in such a jaded and numb world these days. Hope someone enjoys any of these as much as I
do. Music is like the calm in all the chaos, to me.
I love that Chemical Brothers song you posted! Another band I like listening to while working. It gets me in some type of groove where I swear I work
faster and my attention doesn't get interrupted. Like a productive hypnosis.
I like singing along to this cover of Neil Young's Out on the Weekend, while drunk, at the top of my lungs. I'll probably find myself doing it in a
couple hours from now.
