Many people have thought this theory, due to the fact they are practically lining the way to true cyber police and internet censorship due to their actions.

The recent attacks are doing some damage, sure they are not harming data, but from all these threads, you can tell people are being affected.

Anyways, i came across this article on one of my favorite tumblr sites.
Link

To some up the article, its a user on 4chan saying they work for the government, and the goverment has been in charge of 4chan since 2008, after making a deal with the president, Moot.

After a period of time they actually seized the servers, and archived all posts, so they can analyze them.

What is curious to me, is if this is not a troll, and has merit, could it be the CSA and affiliates are the ones running "Operation Payback" so they can take control of the internet? Could it be they found this as a good opportunity to omplement internet censorship?

It also goes along the lines of the what if wikileaks is psiops. What if they decided in 08 that they would use anon when the time comes, and here comes wikileaks, by successfully taking wiki over, and using anon as a weapon to "support" wiki, they could get the "risks" of anon to the public eye.

They can use examples like the "Jessi Slaughter" case to try to prove that Anon can not only affect the digital world, but the real world.

Also taking over anon would help them against their fear of a revolt caused by anon.

If you think about it, lets say (and this is an understatement) there are 1000 anon users. Anon says, "the time has come, all meet here at X time." I'm sure atleast 1/4 of the users would do it. If you think about that, that's a 250 person army, which in a country like the US, that doesn't have too many homeland problems, could be devastating. Imagine, even a small number like 250 people, armed to the teeth, the dammage they could do to a city like DC, or NYC, the local law will be scared stiff, they would have to get military involvment, which will piss off more people, causing all kinds of hell.

And even that, could be part of the Govt plans, stage a revolt, to implement good olde Martial Law.

Thoughts?

I had a similar suspicion about who "anon" really was, though my answer was a little different.
No matter, it reaches the same conclusion.
Problem/reaction/solution=Wikileaks/anon/end of net neutrality
yet another government contractor used to keep their hands clean.
They think they're so clever,

Indeed. I want to trust Anon, i love Anon, they live for freedom. I feel the whole point of all the CP and crap on 4chan is just to prove a point, not to just smuggle CP, the point being, whats on the internet is mine.

But then i think, since i was a child, everything i was ever told was a lie.

Santa
Easterbunny
Christianity
Christmas itself
Freedom of speech
The american dream
Vietnam
9/11
Love

Its just hard to trust anyone. While i want to believe in Anon and Wiki, its hard to know who is wearing the mask. I have been lied to so many times.

Anonymous and 4chan - Ran by the CSA?

In one word - NO.

Noone runs anonymous.

Speaking of tumblr they are rival site of 4chan and just few weeks ago peeps from 4chan DDOS'd tumblr for spamming 4chan and trying to recruit members/ gain traffic from them.

Or they could be a collection of various and sundry individuals stemming from all walks of life coming together to share common interests.

You know? Like, say, a forum.

Doesn't matter what anon is or isn't.

All that matters is that they are pushing TPTB agenda of 100% controlled internet.

By fighting, anon is creating difficulties for average users. They call it collateral damge, some call it a wake up call. It doesn't matter. The recent attacks on VISA, MC, and PayPal have all just helped TPTB with their fear based campaign to control. Try explaining to some business owner that could really care less about anon, wikileaks, assange, etc. that his business had to suffer because anon wanted to prove a point. S/he won't care. But the next time some politico says that they have the cure for all of that, just sign here, they will probably sign.

Anon's quest for ...well whatever it is they supposedly fight for (is it still lolz?)...will be the final nail in the coffin for complete government control to one of the last bastions of free speech. All signed and agreed to by Joe Public, so that they can carry on "as usual".

It is a shame, Anon could have been something very noble.

Why would the Canadian Space Agency want to run 4chan?

Anon does not claim the attacks on infrastructure. Understand that Anon are the only ones to come out to state their purpose and the type of attacks that they have perpetrated. In their Open Letter they stated they would not be attacking infrastructure which is THE ONLY piece that would disrupt a person's ability to do business if they already have a merchant account set up. Visit and read the letter Here that establishes that they are attacking front end sites only with DDOS attacks. If you are not aware of what a DDOS attack is then please research it and you would understand that it is only a temporary discomfort for the corporation that is being attacked. Understand that Anon has the ability to do far more damage to these organizations whether the internet is censored or not and they are showing GREAT restraint given what is at stake here. In any kind of revolution whether it be one of martial nature or digital nature there are going to be supporters of different causes. Those who support a cause that is unjust in nature deserve to have action taken towards them.

This is retarded.
No, No, and No!
Anon is anon. Everyone is equal so the government has no power there.

None of that matters. Just like Assange to wikileaks.

They just got the luxury of becoming the name branded to the percieved problem. They got Alqieda'd.

Politics and public opinion rarely care or research the actual causes to problems. They take the name shown in the media and run with it.

PS: Anon will never be able to win a battle on a battlefield that could literally be turned off (worst case scenario) by your opponent. And, until private companies start building main trunk lines and launching their own sattelites (that includes the launch vehicle), the government will have complete control over the medium that we run our internet on. No communications - no internet.

Your making too much sense and stifling the fan boys and girls warm fuzzy feelings that they are freedom fighters by supporting sites like that.

If they are not run by them they are at least heavily infiltrated and influenced by thier operatives..

This is a wise one.

Has ATS been targeted with DDoS attacks in the past?

It isn't just about internet censorship and "cyber security" it is also about National security now, and that alone requires the elected government to take action... When congress returns following the holidays and their lame duck sessions, expect this to be among their top priority agendas.

There will be an extensive compiled list of websites and online social networks, and groups that share files and communications via the internet that will be tagged as threats.

Guess who will make that list?

And what will they do with it?

Stay tuned.

You can't control Anon. The idea is just absurd. Not because Anon is just that awesome; Anon is just too nebulous.

It is possible that they may have been guided into this act by agents of the government, but that also strikes me as pretty unlikely. It's fully possible, though. If they could find an agent who could properly infiltrate the attitude which creates Anon.

Aaaaaalso, everyone on 4chan's /b/ is a troll. That is just the fact of the matter. Even if there were CSA agents there -- they too would be trolling, by deceiving the /b/ folk with malicious intent. It's the nature of the /b/east.

(I am not proud of that pun at the end.)

Anon is no more nebulous than the general population of America.

The government has had very few problems, in the grand essence, controlling them for a long time now.

has anyone bothered to read the first post in the image linked?

the CSA is Child Sexual Abuse. Anon and 4chan are not run by the CSA because the CSA doesn't exist in a form that could control anything.

according to that post, there was an investigation as a result of some kiddie porn or other such stuff.

You guys are all freaked out over a group being controlled by something that doesn't exist.

Truly comical.

Of course the CSA doesn't exist, and 4chan has been used as a honey-pot for pedos, and to collect data on all users considered either pedos or hackers. CSA? irrelevant.

The implication that 4chan, anon, and wikileaks are being run by and/or used by the government is a completely valid theory.

Use any alphabet letters you want.

Ah, I never read the link. My next guess was Confederate States of America, but that didn't make any more sense than Canadian Space Administration.

I wonder what people thought CSA was?

The people will be powerless to stop what is coming here... It is a matter of national security now.

Good luck.

no, I'm going to stick to the one the OP used because that's the premise of this thread, which is based on a post on another forum.

The OP read the post and declared that anon was being controlled by The CSA and a bunch of folks all posted about it. One member managed to poke fun at the concept, calling it the Canadian Space Agency.

Everyone else was discussing the CSA like it existed and was eeeeevil.

This thread is a perfect example of mob mentality. The dreaded CSA!!! Run for the hills.
