Julian Assange Defense Fund frozen.

The Swiss Bank Post Finance today issues a press release stating that it had frozen Julian Assange's defense fund and personal assets (31K EUR) after reviewing him as a "high profile" individual.

It seems they are trying everything now to stop Assange.
They are forcing him into a corner and i wonder what will happen next.

They are using every trick in the book now, do they know what info Wikileaks has or is it more of a "stop him as fast as we can" thing? Surely they most be worried about the insurance file content.

You are right. With the hundreds of Wikileaks mirror sites as well as the insurance file floating around, they can't stop Wikileaks unless they can turn off the internet. It's much too late to try to stop them now. Julian is just the face of Wikileaks, hushing him won't stop this train.

I am left wondering what they are thinking as far as pissing Julian Assange off?

It sort of seems self defeating to me as I can see him issuing a password very shortly if this keeps up.

Well that is exactly what i think. So why are they pushing him?
Either they know whats in the cables already, or they are really stupid and it's a ego thing.
Calculated risk maybe?

Really?

Frozen? Shouldn't the US stand up against this? I mean don't we all get right to counsel? How can we get that if our defense fund is frozen?

Hypocrisy at it's worst

What kills me is how with the last set of leaks that targeted the military, we had verbal condemnation but not much else against wikileaks.
Then, with this round of leaks targeting politicians this time, he ends up having to fear for his life while anything associated with wikileaks gets shutdown and shut up left and right.
Kind of shows you which part of our government is the more dangerous.

Not exactly a SMART calculated risk....

I'm getting pretty tired of all the attention Assange is getting in this thing. He is really not the important part of this; the fact that everyone's paying so much attention to him just adds fuel to the anti-wikileaks "it's just an ego-train" propaganda that you see everywhere. Assange doesn't have to do a damn thing for the media to end up portraying him as an egomaniac.

It's the organization. It's the information. He's just the guy in charge of it.

listen, i don't know what planet you people live on, but on planet earth, when you even look at some guy on the street the wrong way you can end up in a great deal of trouble. that this guy has managed to get away with what he has already, suggests it's all part of the plan and if you think otherwise, you might want to rethink your position.

Wikileaks is basically a bunch of raw data and info. The problem with that, is it can be manipulated any which way-especially with the slow "leaking" of the documents. I don't know whose agenda it's serving or what purposes/motivations WL has. My bet is still on the whole psyops deal-and I go on to bet that if anything juicy doesn't get released soon, most people will forget about it. Most in America don't even know or care as of right now. There seems to be a growing trend of Apathy in America. It's all a damn circus

I think Wikileaks are playing TPTB's own game against them.
Just as Douglas Adams says "the president is there to draw attention away from those who are really in power". I think Assange's role is to keep their attention while his associates work under-wraps.

That's what I hope, at least. I seem to be doing that a lot recently..

nonsense. if he was doing that, they'd have taken him out back when it was first starting to gain traction, like right after the first disclosure. all this is just a big farce.

Not at all, as a hacker, I understand how easy it is to get away with TONS....

The world is not as orchestrated as you would assume...

well let me see, the left has moved from being democrats to being far left socialists, and the right has moved to the left, to being just center of the road socialists (just in the past 40 years). what could he possibly divulge that wouldn't just assist in making the place even more socialist? every time something like this happens, we move a little bit farther to the left. not that it's bad to be helpful but pure socialism is pretty much everyone is poor and a handful have money, clout and influence. now look around. what do you see? we are currently pretending they are capitalists.

And you know that how...?
I think you could be perfectly right and a part of me suspects that this is just a scripted performance, but how can we know that for certain until we've seen the final act?
A lot of people here are coming to conclusions, saying that Assange is a blatant puppet for the CIA/FBI/TPTB/NWO (etc. etc.) based on very little evidence, I'm just saying that we should be open to both possibilities.

You just openly admitted to being a hacker on a public message board!

You're really not a hacker, period.

If you were you'd know that EVERYTHING is traceable. It's only a matter of time and resources.

Kids these days...

a part of my brain is just screaming that maybe all of this is just a big show. that this is big brother singing, dancing, and pulling a rabbit out of a hat as we all gape in awe. a great big oozing festering distraction.
