A recent study has shown that low does of mercury can cause male birds to become homosexual.
www.newscientist.com...

I have nothing against peoples life choices, it is entirely up to them, saying that , we now have mercury filled energy saving light bulbs, in almost every house, will this further help the ptbs cause to help depopulate the Earth?

These light bulbs are they safe?? Here is a quote of what to do if one is broken from a government site.

How to deal with a broken CFL bulb
If you break a CFL bulb at home, you should open the windows for 15 minutes and leave the room to air. Broken light bulbs should be carefully gathered up with kitchen paper (not a brush, or vacuum cleaner), using rubber gloves to protect your hands.
Wipe the area with a damp cloth afterwards, and put the broken pieces of glass and the cloth into a plastic bag and seal it.
You must not throw the bag in your normal household rubbish, but take it to your local waste and recycling centre.

www.direct.gov.uk...

Hmm sounds safe!!
So the bulbs contain mercury that is heated up in the process. Clearly these bulbs are a hazard if broken but how much do they effect you while they are on?? What is it doing to the children??
Personally I find they give me a headache and will just use the lamp.
What do you think>> Or am I just looking too deeply into this??
Take care regards

Don't know what to think on this, but the light bulbs, those do worry me.

just another way of population control poison everyone with mercury so they become gay and therefore no kids, kinda simple really.
who knows but CFL bulbs last at least half as long as the old metal coil.

I don't think you're looking to deeply into this at all. I believe you may be onto something. these bulbs are no good, not for anybody. and I do think they made them for more than just 'energy saving'

So that is what the flu vaccination is for, to turn people gay! Wow, I always thought it was just to poison people.

Although you were joking, you do raise a good point. I overlooked the vaccination mercury content. Who knows what it is doing? Wonder how it effects women.

You're right there, maybe the best way to
save energy is to get rid of those using it!
That boils down to all of us and our families.

Okay, for one thing. This is birds. Mercury's gonna affect humans differently. That's. That's just basic chemistry right there. Poisons do different things to different organisms.

For another thing, we've had mercury thermometers forever. Were those turning people gay, do you suppose? (Of course, they are dangerous in their own rights, as are most things in the world.)

Thanks for your input, however, I am aware we are different species and mercury will have different effects, but as we can not really test humans and study them like we can animals, we have to go with the information we have got. You do not have a thermometer constantly exposed to you, do you?? The mercury is not heated as much and possibly emitted into its surrounds as could be with a bulb.
If you did break the glass of the thermometer and had it in your mouth , you would be in serious trouble.
We do not know the long term effects of exposure its as simple as that.
regards

Mercury free thermometer made of Gallium Indium Stannum alloy. Galinstan(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galinstan).

There is a factory in China that makes that or a similar version.

Wuxi Medical Instrument Factory.

You claim that you know that it has different effects -- but then you go right ahead and say that "oh hey could these be making us gay?"

I suppose in your defense after that you just ask "What could they be doing to us?!" but still, the assumption that it's doing the same thing to us lies intrinsically in each word you say after that.

rejoice I have the answer. www.lightbulbs-direct.com... proper bulbs can still be bought from specialist websites. They cost a bit more than they did from the shops but are usually tougher ones intended for building sites.

interesting.
if mercury is a cause of homosexuality then maybe this is important news.
after all, HFCS is in fact in almost EVERYTHING.

MONDAY, Jan. 26 (HealthDay News) -- Almost half of tested samples of commercial high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) contained mercury, which was also found in nearly a third of 55 popular brand-name food and beverage products where HFCS is the first- or second-highest labeled ingredient, according to two new U.S. studies.

HFCS has replaced sugar as the sweetener in many beverages and foods such as breads, cereals, breakfast bars, lunch meats, yogurts, soups and condiments. On average, Americans consume about 12 teaspoons per day of HFCS, but teens and other high consumers can take in 80 percent more HFCS than average.

"Mercury is toxic in all its forms. Given how much high-fructose corn syrup is consumed by children, it could be a significant additional source of mercury never before considered.

Having been gay since long before the energy saving bulbs came along, I wonder what they would do to me?
Make me straight? Or perhaps nothing at all? Perhaps they would make me settle into a little love nest?

How horrendous to read in the article that the hetero birds became "bad parents".
Oh well, who cares about "bad" hetero parents, as long as they're not gay

Various forms of homosexuality have been recorded amongst our feathery friends for decades.
Perhaps the one group contained birds that already had gay preferences.
If some alien studied me now he might say "Oh the mercury in the bulbs made him gay".
But I was gay before - there is no proven causality.

Come on, how many people get directly exposed to the Mercury that is in a thermometer or a CFL lamp? Even if these items all wind up diluted in the environment, it is negligible.

The real sources are from heavy industry and the use of mercury in precious metal extraction and as a catalyst in manufacturing processes that produce highly utilized materials. Tons of it wind up in our oceans and all animals absorb it and accumulate it to some degree, especially sea creatures. The tops of the food chain get the worst of it.

I would be more concerned about eating seafood , especially swordfish if you are looking for a real contamination source that can affect you.

Stocking up on swordfish tomorrow.

And a bottle of Tequilla - riskier, but tried and tested.
Besides, "Man was I tipsy last night, I can't recall a thing" just sounds better than: "You had those mercury bulbs on again, and put swordfish in the sushi, didn't you?"

But I agree, especially now that fish-stocks are low, a lot of "sustainable fish" comes from very polluted rivers in Asia.
For instance, I discovered recently that a fish being sold here as "Perch", or "Nile Basa", or Panga is actually Vietnamese Catfish.
I was horribly sick on it, and read that's banned in some states.
It has mercury warnings.

According to the more literal Bible readers,
god hates homosexuals.
If so, why did he create mercury poisoning?
over population makes seagulls gay too
I Knoes god hates overpopulation.....
Then there is the anesthetic that was used during childbirth
which causes a higher percentage of daughters born to mothers who were given it
to be lesbian...

Repent and make babies!
who will vote neocon...

there are still a couple countries on the axis of evil that need to be over run
and assimilated.

They probably made those poor birds so sick they couldn't tell Arthur from Martha.
That doesn't say anything on sexuality.
It says a lot on cruelty to animals.

Doesn't mercury get passed out through urine over time? When I was young, I've broken many a mercury thermometer, played with industrial mercury and even had a fishing lure that contained mercury. I'm a male in my 40s and still get easily aroused by a beautiful female, no need for a blue pill here. Personally I'd rather believe that homosexually is a life style choice rather than a genetic or environmentally caused preference. I wonder if the gay birds get harassed by the straight ones?
