Continuing on my theme of "politics for the everyman":

I am posting a link to an admittedly simplistic short quiz on political beliefs: the results are scored and placed on a political "spectrum".
Disclosure: It is put out to expose people to "libertarian" beliefs( "each to his own"); So I am 85% sure the questions and results are biased in that direction.

I am also quite sure our resident political philosophy major(s)will dismiss it as too "simplistic";but that's the thing about America we are currently free to discuss our ideas; even if they don't pass the test of hours of philosophical debate on open mike night down at the coffee house on the commons..

Every time a citizen finds he believes solidly in individual and property rights; Lenin spins in his tomb.So I think its important to give the nasty old bird a turn every now and again ' lest
we forget the evil that is communism/socialism...

Interesting quiz. I was graded a libertarian, yet I've always thought of myself as conservative. I guess my desire to have the government completely butt out of free speech and privacy categorized me appropriately.

Same here. I considered myself conservative but this quiz says I am a libertarian. Maybe the libertarian is the true 3rd party. I wonder where the tea party people fall into all this as well.

Thank you. That's not a big surprise.
I usually end up there or very close (Liberal/Libertarian).

I bet we have MANY here on ATS who would end up in the Libertarian section, especially with this particular quiz.

Surprise Surprise, I'm a Centrist.
I guess my desire for sensibility and the idea that the Devil is always in the details puts me right where I belong.

Yup libertarian... perhaps its swayed100% but its purpose is to make you think.I will be looking further into libertarian candidates. In the future

Seems like i'm a centrist too.
Which i thought surprising.
Without taking the test i thought i was a libertarian.
Here's the breakdown.
Your personal issues score is 80%
Your economic issues score is 50%

What kind of quiz was that?

It said I was an Episcopalian. Is that good?

The quiz is very weak. I suppose if you were just going for a very limited understanding of a person’s views without them spending time to elaborate upon each individual section of the four major parts of political philosophy; Social, Economic, Civil, Foreign, than this would be the perfect quiz. But with providing such simplistic questions you could very easily be labeled with the wrong political ideology.

It classified me as a Liberal: 90% Personal, 30% Economic. While I know I generally fall to the Left-of-Center on the political spectrum I know I lean towards Libertarianism along with some Social Democratic and Cultural Conservative tendencies.

In my opinion this quiz is heavily flawed, skewed, and I would not base my political ideology off of it.

Says in his british accent" oh look he's mulched oop lovely for a leathery old bird"... blasphemy aside; it cracks me up every time!

HMMMmmm, In a much longer quiz I rated centralist with a bit of libertarian leaning. This time very libertarian.

I want as little government as possible but we still need some to promote civilization.
