Wikileaks - What could possibly cause "worldwide anarchy"?

I was watching CNN. They were dicussing the cables being released...basically this is backroom talk away from the handshaking and cameras..the off the record discussions, etc.

Now, no doubt there will be plenty of racism, plenty of smacktalk about other countries, some "we will ignore your human rights violations in exchange for candy" type deals...but what would truely be suprising enough to cause, as the soldier whom leaked the documents said, "worldwide anarchy".

I simply cannot fathom anything so powerful revealed that could do that..a french statesmen that in the backroom calls the US a bunch of inbred idiot trash would simply make me chuckle and shrug..I expect little from politicians of the world...they are voted in by the average citizen in the area they represent (hint...the average person is rather dumb and vote for who is shiny more than who is worldly and clever)...and these people are shoved constantly in a room of foreigners of the same caliber.

Warcrimes? if there was outrage...the previous wikileaks would have sent out that shockwave..or hell, even Dubya's book.

So...what possibly could impact the world in the way the leaker is touting...or is this simply overhypeing?

Would anyone truely be suprised to find out their hand shaking politician is actually a bit of an ass behind closed doors, or a government is trying to strongarm and blackmail another state to conform to their viewpoint?

Am I missing something here? its communication cables...chat sessions behind closed doors...???

toss out a few "could be's" and perhaps if it is something truely bad, we should consider how to prepare for a worldwide collapse of governments..but I simply cannot imagine what could possibly be revealed short of those nutty reptilian guys being proven true. (omg, they rip off their skin and eat people behind closed doors). Short of that...not sure.

Too many things to speculate on and many already discussed in the many other threads on this issue..
Personally I'd rather just wait and see..

I think we will just have to wait and see. Having worked in the embassy of a world power for nearly a decade, I can tell you that some of the stuff that goes on there can be unbearably "awkward", and that's as a diplomat's PA with clearance, working in the secure areas. Very scary stuff.

But you know what? It's high time all this comes to light. It's time for them to stop with their preposterous posturing, fear-mongering, and manipulating. Once you know, you'll never be able to go back to your former state of ignorance. It will matter. You will know why very soon, I suspect. At least, this is my prayer.

I think it's the opinion of one person who probably hasn't got a clue about the content of these communications.

But then it depends on their position. If they have an interest in defending their government (which I assume was the case) then they are going to make it out to be highly damaging, even if just to encourage the negative view of leaking info.

Personally, I expect it's been massively exaggerated.

It's probably a load slightly unprofessional and questionable opinions and nothing more.

But then again, it could reveal that senior officials made certain sacrifices or tried to cover up certain events.

I'm reminded of Churchill sacrificing Coventry to the Nazi bombers, so they wouldn't know their cipher had been broken by Bletchley Park.

Who is the "governmental authority"?

The cause of "anarchy" will be the uprising of humanity against the corrupt power systems on this planet.
e.g. - Corporations, Religious rule, the false currency, etc.

The realization that no person can hold sway over you will lead to the paradigm shift that the PTB fear. It will be natural.

I got a scary reason..

The elite knows 90% of world population is going to be killed in a meteor hitting earth soon...

Revelation that world governments and leaders are nothing more than corrupted people that use the law to manipulate and exploit the public. High-level involvements in international drug trafficking, arms deals, sex trades (including children), terrorists and financial scandals.

No government is clean or white. The more one claims to be righteous/clean, the more corrupted that government really is.

the world is a cynical place now...we collectively expect alot of corruption, bad deals, and nasty tactics as part of the political norm...
Something that would truely effect the system would be more than just "jive talk"...it would have to be something so epic that we here on ATS haven't even pinpointed it without it being considered fringe crazy talk.

Chemtrails...flouride dumbing people down...etc...stuff like that going from radical fantasy to fact would certainly change things. Short of that, I am not really sure what could cause anything more than just reenforced cynicism...perhaps a few minor demonstrations, people voted out of office at the next election cycle, etc...

I guess nobody has a actual idea...but the more I consider it...the less I think it will be anything as groundbreaking as they suggest it will be...more of the same kind of thing

My guess would be a combo of information. Let's see here:

Aliens are real, proof-positive of falsification of either Christianity or Islam, doomsday asteroid, 2012 is real, 9/11 really was a government conspiracy, evidence of a super volcano eruption on the horizon

Basically, I'm guessing that we'll find out that a combo of conspiracy theories are more or less correct if this guy isn't just hyping it up.

Anarchy is a term those in positions of control use to describe not having control.

Kind of like socialism,which has never been allowed to exist in it's purest form,because it removes most of the power governments enjoy over the people.

Socialism isn't what most people think it is.

Ever notice how fast young politicians go gray after taking a top office?

Sure there is stress, but the minions take care of most of the little details. From there the actual trench work is done by the career bureaucrats.

Although I have no illusions about the true job of our elected officials (mouthpieces for those who actually make the decisions) I'd think that it must come as a shock in some ways to the ego's of these people to realize that they are just doing what they are told, instead of doing the telling themselves. Imagine, you have just been elected president and in your first official meeting in your new office you are told that you have absolutely no power. That the purpose of your job is to take the blame for the decisions made by people who were never elected into any position and who probably don't officially exist anywhere.

Perhaps the entire purpose of high office is to do nothing more then prevent specific facts from ever being exposed. In this light, there are probably all kinds of secrets that could undermine the entire system if they ever got out.

As posted by others, we will have to wait and see.

The expression truth is stranger than fiction however may play a role here. For all of our theories and ramblings it may turn out that the rabbit hole doesn't lead anywhere...it is only a maze for us to get lost in without ever knowing what was really going on.

Look at some of the things that happened in the 20th century.

Why did the Nazi's comb the world for occult artifacts? The german people are a very logical and pragmatic people. Of all of us I would think they would be the least likely to think there was anything tangible to be gained by such actions.

Unless they KNEW that there was actually something to it.

Look at how badly mangled our histoy is: We don't actually know anything about our history prior to (the last) great flood. There have been numerous discoveries that have been made that do not mesh with history as we the masses know it but these stories disappear quickly.

Why is it that certain artifacts or sites are COMPLETELY ignored.

I can go on but you get the picture. The world we know stems from what we have been taught through governemnt approved classes. From there we all arrived here because things aren't right. We are the ones who can see the cracks, but the truth may have finally been successfully hidden a thousand years ago.

The story is flawed, but there is nothing left to hint at what 'IT' actually is that is being hidden.

To me Anarchy is when everyone is divided.

It would have to be something that would set white against black, religion against religion. I mean, there are already dividing lines, but most people can tolerate each other to a point where we are not trying to kill each other.
I don't know, but it would have to be something so bad that it would make other people suspicious of their neighbor and also angry enough to want to kill or do something destructive.

Then when someone does something destructive or kills someone, the suspicion rises. People start to stereotype everyone as the enemy, and there is civil unrest because no one is sure who to trust anymore.

I really hope we don't see anything like this happen. I have friends of all races and most everyone I have ever met just wants to live and let live.

I would not be the type of person to want to kill a stranger just because of something one person did. But I might become less trusting of others, especially those who are different from me.

This conversation reminds me of a conversation I had with an old man.

He made some examples to explain what he thought anarchy was.

I pointed out that those things happen everywhere,every day.

The thing you speak of is mass paranoia,not anarchy.

People get paranoid when their subconscious realizes they are being lied to,but they refuse to admit it in their conscious mind.

so many conspiracy to choices from!
that all governments work to gether to use the people.
that the all wars are the cull the herd.
and to make money.

that 4 people rule the world.
and the world is a board game for them to play!!!

Obviously I don't know anymore than anybody else but as an opinion.

I dont expect any 'out there' revelations. Just a lot of very dirty realpolitik.

On ATS we are a fairly questioning bunch but the majority of people in most places toe the party line. They believe the reason things are done is for the stated 'virtuous reason' rather then the real financial one.

What if the following information becomes known in undeniable US state department cables:

1. The US is in afghanistan to secure access to rare minerals. Nothing to do with 'terrorists'.
2. The USA has been funding chinese dissident groups while shaking hands in public.
3. The USA has been funding terrorists against another NATO power.

None of these things would surprise readers here but they would indeed cause uproar (temporarily).

Interesting concept.

I have to admit that I am of a similar mind as you on this. I suspect the world governments talk smack and trade lies, rumors and gossip about each other while making nice nice in public at a level that would put the meanest group of high school girls to shame.


Likewise, I'm sure there are tons of dirty deals, we'll overlook X in exchange for Y, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and tons of things that go against what is said publicly.

The only think I could think of that would cause worldwide anarchy would be just a few - things like...

The world will end in X due to Y - lets keep the public in the dark.
Some kind of admission of NWO / elite pulling the strings.
Some type of de-population plan - (we need to reduce the world population by X%).
The vote was rigged on "Dancing with the Stars"...

Ok - I threw the last one in just to see if you are paying attention.

Unless it is some type of vast global conspiracy uncovered in the notes I can't think of anything at all.

We know from the Manning/lamo chat sessions that the cables are 'near criminal' and also 'beautiful and horrifying' and that they reveal a lot of corruption and manipulation.

Ok, my hope is that the manipulation will come strongly to light, and it will FORCE people to KNOW that it happens, so that the population en masse learns to keep their eyes open.

And I hope it sees a lot of bad people resign and be fired.

And if the US has to repair it's relations, I hope we don't think we are going to do it with money.
