State Officials Cancel Access To Welfare Benefits On Cruise Ships And At All Casinos

Well does this mean that California is no longer The Golden State?

First, they cut off benefit cards in strip clubs, and California casinos. Now cruise ships?

California officials are cutting off use of state-issued welfare debit cards at casinos across the country and on cruise ships, in the wake of Times reports that the aid cards have been used to spend or withdraw millions of dollars in benefits at popular vacation spots including the Las Vegas strip and on ships sailing from ports around the world.

What makes me angry about this is the fact that these people were even able to spend the taxpayers money in a strip club or casino or cruis ship. Who the bloody hell would think that something like that was OK? Im seriously thinking about quitting my job and mooching off of the government for the rest of my life. Looks like working hard for your living just isn't paying off anymore. I think i just sour splashed in the back of my throat a little.

Well, there go my plans for Friday night...

I honestly can't believe that we need to actually legislate this! One would think that these rules would have been in place a LONG time ago.

They should go back through records and make every single person who has used their welfare cards, in these ways, pay it back!

I hear you. Its almost impossible to think that this was an "oversight" on the officials part.
I mean, seriously...strip clubs?

To think that California taxpayers have been bilked for millions in taxes (ripped off) so that someone can get thier jollies in a club? Oh and how about the gambling? Taxpayers work hard, earn money, are taxed to death in California so people who dont work can go gambling? And cruises? And Disneyland?

these people are pathetic. strip clubs, casinos and cruise ships? how do you shame someone who is such a leech on society that they think this is ok?

I'm not really Familiar with the whole welfare system in the USA but is it similair to a bank-card that gives acces to the fixed monthly welfare check or something? If so, even if the money is from a welfare system why do you care where it is spent? it is theirs to do with as they see fit isn't it? I'm not seeing the problem if that is the case. Money is money any wich way you look at it.

I hear ya man or woman. lol. Im sure that someone will come on here talking about how these poor people dont have jobs and they need to be able to do things that regular, hard working people do. NO THEY DONT! If your life is so crappy that you have to rely on taxpayers money to feed yourself and your family, then you DEFFINATELY made a right when you should have been making a left about 20 or so years ago. Welfare should only be used to sustain life until you can find something better. Nothing more. Deffinately not any damned strip clubs. WTF?!
