I thought that the rightward-moving 'comet' had long ago been explained as a Russian rocket launch. Has it been seen again, or did some TV program just recycle 'stock footage' to excite the rubes?

Thats not the footage the news is now linking, just atsers are linking in this thread
Click on the MSN a or ABC america report and its clearly different footage, blinking lights, not a rocket like anomoly. As stated before I believe that rocket is the Jul footage not the sep 11 footage.

Well funny enough, this photo is being broadcast around the world as the UFO that brought the airport to a stand still. Interesting, because Phage just posted a comment on one of my threads that proves it was around in April this year, I am trying to find the original source as we speak.

zaz the footage you posted was uploaded not long after the first Chinese UFO sighting in July(?), I will try to find it again but I am 100% that it isn't new.

yes all this has been posted in previous months
the over exposed helicopters and the rocket launches
the only maybe new one i have seen here is the flashing light in the op which could be anything

Helicopters and missiles are fine and dandy. The only hole in the theory is that they had to shut down the airport. In the aviation biz, that's a big deal. Usually there are NOTAMs and explanations because of the hazard such things would cause to pilots, aircraft, passengers. Why continue testing near the airport when it's obviously disruptive, seems counterintuitive.
