ATS has become a site for people to complain about what they think ATS has become a site for...

Anybody else sick and tired of all the threads popping up proclaiming that ATS has become a site for bigots, hippies, racists, government agents, grays, Jews, panzies, anti-religious fanatics, pro-religious fanatics, communists, socialists, nationalists, conspiracy theorists, debunkers, masons, etc., etc., etc.?

This is a site for people from all walks of life to come and discuss various topics, it should come as no surprise to anybody that people will have vastly differing viewpoints. Not everybody has the time to read and post on every thread, so just because a thread seems to have alot of posts you may disagree with, it doesn't mean that ATS has become a site in support of that viewpoint, the chips just fell that way.

Things around here move in cycles, and sometimes there are packs of fools with varying ignorance starring and flagging each other, but if you do your best to ignore them, they get tired of rubbing each others shoulders, and fade away.

YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!! Thank you sooooo much for posting what has been very annoying watching. People creating threads where they whine and cry about things other people are saying on a conspiracy website. ....not at all what I come here looking for. S&F for you.

I agree...

I think people need to realise that people have a hundred different opinions on any chosen subject.

And these types of threads are not helped by supposed moderators calling people fools and idiots.

I agree, people should take action and leave this site if they don't like it anymore.

It's just that you can't leave by yourself. You can't delete your account, wich seems to be my intellectual property.

I tried to get banned as I want closure, but I'm still posting, lol.

It's a worrisome unfolding situation where people are feeling a sense of entitlement of topics that are being discussed on this site. Clearly the topics in question are pushing many away from their comfort zones and belief systems to the point that instead of either ignoring the post completely or engaging in discussion and debate, they feel that these things have absolutely no place on here for members to talk about. To the detriment of their thinking though, many people here do want to engage in such topics.

This is a worrisome development going on that I see all to often, especially since living in San Francisco. What were seeing here is the development of an elitist attitude here on the site with an agenda to boot.

Even if it's in violation of the site's T&C, we've seen threads started and closed who purpose while noble in the eye's of the beholder, is nothing other than a groupthink solution in order to censor those whom they disagree with never engaging that person in their thread.

Albeit, while those threads are closed due to T&C violations, the frightening part is that the mentality and thought process is already firmly planted in the minds of those members and will ultimately act out upon those thoughts as a group even in an unconscious manner.

Where else would a site take the bitching that happens daily to heart? The only One I've seen. I made an innocuous post on GLP and got IP banned straight away. ATS doesn't though. They try to incorporate what the members want. Can't please everyone though. That's the nature of mankind. Too many differences.

ATS does pretty good though. See the Survival forum? Good example. It wasn't on ATS' radar but the members said, "HEY we need a Survival forum." The staff said, "Really?" And it happened. It's been a staple ever since.

There are others but there isn't another ATS.

You're still posting because your attempt to get banned was weak...

I saw the thread you put out there, and your title was the only righteous thing about it, as your OP left a lot to the imagination while you circumvented the profanity rules and nothing more.

How about you just log off...remove ATS from your Favourites List (if its there) and don't come back??

Seems to me to be rather simple.

If its a case of not wanting to be tempted to come back...then reset your password to something completely random...just randomly type in whatever - set it as your password then log out. Alternatively, enter a random email addy in your email details as the email any reset password is sent to...log out...and then click on 'reset password/forgot password' and the generated password/message will be sent out to the nonexistant email.


I know it probably seems like a small ask to have ones a/c completely vanished...but apparently its a bit more difficult than it sounds according to the Admins.

So - options are limited.


Getting banned doesn't erase your a/c either.
Its still here, still with all your posts etc...you're just banned, everything else remains.

If thats what you want...then again...why not just log out, or reset your password etc. The aim is achieved.



IF however its more a case of wanting to go out in a blaze of glory by committing Death by Moderator...then please don't...theres enough drama on day-time TV...

Yeah dude, I'm new to this message board but I like it. Any other you could recommend of similar value? People piss and moan more and more these days because they're used to getting things their way, superficially. Realistically they're just being groomed for obedience, the things they hold sacred are not so much individual aspects of that person, but more dictates bestowed upon them from the powers that be. The end result is them lashing out from their restraints that they confuse with being offended by counter-intrusive measures, such as the truth, or subversive materials.

It's as if we're a society of stubborn old men, unwilling to see the wood for the trees, but continue to complain about the wind.

I never said I hated anything, I'm just saying it gets annoying when people start defining the whole site based on random cycles of posts they don't agree with.

Well the community here is changing. Nothing is sacred forever.I would say though, that ever since Obama has been elected I noticed all sides of the political spectrum have flooded here thinking this is a place for perpetuating the status quo.

I have to complain about the OP's post complaining about those who complain ATS is all about complaining, and .....where the hell was I?
