Based on the ENORMOUS visceral outpouring of of hatred towards Israel by many here, I want to ask a very simple question.

If Israel were to be eliminated (by whatever means) and the arabs/palestinians took over the entire territory and formed a palestinian nation, what do you think the result would be in the Middle East?

I don't want comments on why you like/dislike Israel (there's been enough of that); I simply want to know if those who want to see Israel dissolved/destroyed, etc. got their wish, what would the net result be?

If the state of Israel as we know it collapsed, a likely scenario would be that the Jews living in Israel would be slaughtered. Another likely scenario is that the Jews living there would live as Jews have lived in Arab countries for the last few centuries. The Jews would be under dhimi rules and treated like second class citizens. Any scenario involving the collapse of Israel would also involve a large number of refugees.

If Israel did not exist at all, the eastern European refugees that populated Israel after WWII would have probably wound up in other countries like the USA. The Sephardic Jews (Jews of Middle Eastern decent) that make up roughly 50% of Israel's Jewish population would continue to live scattered throughout the Middle east as second class citizens.

The jews would be persecuted, pursued, exiled and killed.

The mid-east would then collapse into a cluster 'SNIP' of tribal warfare between rival factions of muslims.

Its impossible to imagine a scenario where Israel willingly gives up its territory, so therefore the only plausible scenarios are the following:

1) Israel is invaded by a coalition of Muslim nations. This would lead to heavy heavy casualties on both sides with Israel as the likely victor. However if by some miracle the muslim nations were to win this battle, then ironically the tables would turn and it would be the Muslims who own the land, and the Israelis would be put into camps.

2) Israel and Palestine are turned into a big sheet of glass. This is a more likely scenario than scenario 1. This would lead to global shell-shock and strengthen the control of the global government.

Neither of these scenarios are going to happen though. Any attempt at invading Israel will fail, and nuclear war is not an acceptable move in this game, and would therefore be prevented by higher forces.

If you look at the history of most Islamic nations, when they aren't united to fight a common cause, the seem to be at each other's throats. Given that, your picture, while ugly as hell, is probably fairly accurate.

I would add that there's a strong possibility that some other nation might try to move into their territority to grab land and oil and find themselves battling a unified front as the Russians wound up doing back in the 80's.

In all liklihood, the Palestinians would go back to harassing the Jordanians and the Egyptians for more territory... like they were doing before Israel was founded in '48.

And the Turks would step in and "establish" peace in its former lands while the rest of the world sees the rebuilding of the Ottoman empire.

Oh hey, wasn't that "aid" ship from Turkey?

Ill just say it,

If they didnt exist there would just be a different target toward the religious craziness that grips the middle east like a python killing its target.

That area is completely insane. Religiously insane.

I posted this tongue-in-cheek because threads that lend themselves to bashing Israel and it's destruction go on for pages, with numerous stars and flags.

Yet, a post that deals directly with the issue of a non-existent Israel, which the overwhelmingly majority want in those other threads, scarcely generates any interest at all.

Makes me think that everyone is quick to have an opinion (with emotional outbursts), but nobody has any real answers.
