True, hes actually lucky all they did was take his passport.

If I was him I would fly with a parachute already on and ready to go.

It seems airplane "malfunctions" are a convenient way to deal with a thorn in your side if your business card says TPTB

We've presently got what passes for a left-wing (Labor) national government.
However left wing now is where right wing (Liberal) was 20 years ago, the conservatives have just moved even further right.

Both sides would like to make sex and porn only available to themselves, institute a slave class, and control everything we do..

If his passport was just being renewed...

Not renewed. Arrangements were made to replace his worn booklet with a new one.

why did they prevent him from travelling.

They didn't.

They took it away from him at the airport.

For FIFTEEN minutes while the old booklet was checked for tampering and the new booklet was ordered. The original passport was returned to him and he has no travel restrictions. His journey was not interrupted, only his progress through customs/immigration for this procedure. When he receives the new booklet, the old booklet will be canceled.

It is 100% standard procedure for ANY Australian passport that shows signs of wear and tear. Especially since several fake Australian passports were used by Mossad agents to facilitate an assassination in Dubai recently.

I suspect most Governments do this to ensure their Citizens are carrying passports that will not be suspected of tampering by foreign customs and immigrations services thereby exposing them to unnecessary problems/delays in their travels.

I strongly suspect it is part of international protocol that the condition of passports must be maintained to a certain standard.

The Pentagon released a report 2 years ago claiming WikiLeaks is a direct and blatant threat to US National Security, and outlining how it could go about shutting it down.

Which ironically, WikiLeaks leaked.

hmmmm.. just wondering it he did this deliberately? I certainly don't think that stupid with the articles he rights..
