It uses inexpensive, readily available materials. It peeks at how the launcher works: the bump that seals the water and air pressure in the bottle, the zip-tie assembly that holds it on, and the spring that helps prevent accidental launches. And part 1 asserts that shooting a water rocket is analogous to driving a car--potentially dangerous, but safe if done with care.

dang... your rocket is too elaborate...


merely take a 1/4 can of a popular crystalized drain cleaner (draino?)

pour in about a 1/4 to 1/2 cup of laundry bleach....
pop the plastic lid cap back on the tin can...

set upside down after shaking for 5 2 seconds (the cap facing downwards)

Keep well back as the mixture heats up & creates massive pressure!

the 'chemical rocket' will launch well over 100', go 'pfffffttt', and probably chemically burn you lawn in the process...

this experimental rocket was done by me & fellow students over 38 years ago.... and its still a strut-your-stuff thing to do with cdommon household stuff.

hydrogen peroxide is also a catalyst in bombs like the London underground bombs...(another common household item)

Unfortunately, you cant do this at school, they will arrest you for having a projectile missile weapon or WMD...

These might be illegal in my state....
