US warns Syria over Scud claims

A top US official has warned of serious repercussions for Syria if claims that it supplied the Lebanese Islamist group Hezbollah with Scud missiles are true.

Assistant Secretary of State Jeffrey Feltman said "all options are going to be on the table looking at this".

Pretty strong words from the US - we all know what "all options are on the table" translates to. Yet another dimension to this powder keg and another story to watch carefully.

Iranian war games start tomorrow too - a perfect opportunity for something to ignite the whole Middle East.

we have all known were this has been heading for a while but even as i type theirs news of isreal tooling up, irans "wargames", syrias scuds and tommorows a whole new day things are starting to move faster than i can keep up with. hell im gonna wake up oneday in the up and comming month and it will be all out war. press t.v for anyones whos still up at this hour.

It may be all hype, but you don't bother making the hype for no reason.

Hype can be used for many things, including raising tensions and creating an atmosphere in which war can develop.
