Finally more countries are taking steps towards preventing nuclear war. I can only hope more world leaders follow Ukraines example. Maybe we will live to see the day where we won't have to worry about the constant threat of nuclear destruction.

By the way, I'm sorry I couldn't quote more of the article. I am not on a computer at the moment and can not copy and paste.

Yes, Ukraine has decided to be done with it once and for all, expect more to happen within the next 10 days, this was just day one.

the far right will be by shortly to explain why this is a disaster and how Obama has yet again done something horrible.

Ukraine plans to give up its stockpile of highly enriched uranium by 2012, President Viktor Yanukovych announced after a meeting with President Barack Obama on the sidelines of a nuclear security summit in the US capital.

Wow, it just seems like everybody has been wanting to do this for awhile and has just waited for the ball to get rolling. Not wanting to be the first to test it out. Very good stuff to see! Maybe we're entering a new time.

I do think though that if these go away they will be replaced with something else. I do fear bio weapons but I dont think people have enough of a handle on controlling it to be able to use them yet.

Good steps being taken though and will be interesting to sese who else has things they wanna give up. I praise Ukraine.

Does it actually belong to Ukraine? Could claim it is its uranium?

It's part of a communist plot! As soon as he collects all the uranium from the few countries possessing enriched stockpiles, he's going to process it into lower grade material and redistribute it!

I'm sure there will be some eager countries wanting to purchase that material. I suspect that is how they intend to get rid of it, by selling it to the highest bidder. Iran or.....
