A full Halo C.M.E. was observed april 8th and the results are schedules to arrive at the latest by April 12th.

This Mass Coronal Ejection was rated as a class B3 event...

Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is
expected to be quiet for days one and two (10-11 April). Quiet to
unsettled conditions, with isolated active periods, are expected for
day three (12 April). This activity is expected due to the full
halo CME observed on 08 April.

This on top of an ADDITIONAL Solar Grazing comet... lol, things just continue to entertain us.

Tis but a baby.

When we get something like THIS, be concerned.

No doubt about it, that was one helluva storm -=)

I'm more concerned about Earthquake and volcanic activities currently however. With the new solar maximum under way, starting in late 2009, activities have somehow matched solar activity. Will this new round induce yet again another earthquake?

My money is aurora will only be visible at the highest latitudes, and there may be some degradation of HF radio communications...

The CME is expected to strike a "glancing blow", so I'll be very surprised if it produces a storm with the intensity of the one we experienced earlier in the week...

A B3 flare is not really much of a big deal.

Quiet to unsettled, with isolated active periods

Again, not much of a big deal.

About earthquakes, maybe you should have a look here:

lmao!

WELL WOULDN'T YA KNOW IT!

April 11th... we are hit with this C.M.E. and what happens?

News - 7.1 Solomons Earthquake Sunday, April 11, 2010

7.1
Date-Time Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 09:40:29 UTC
Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 08:40:29 PM at epicenter

Location 10.925°S, 161.191°E
Depth 51.9 km (32.3 miles) set by location program
Region SOLOMON ISLANDS
Distances 97 km (60 miles) WSW (237°) from Kira Kira, Solomon Islands
211 km (131 miles) SE (140°) from HONIARA, Solomon Islands
248 km (154 miles) SSE (168°) from Auki, Solomon Islands
1540 km (957 miles) E (97°) from PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea

I've been proven right, once again. this is the third time now that I observed a C.M.E., said a high magnitude EarthQauke would likely occur once we get hit by it, and ...
TADAAAA!!

slam sizzle bam rumble rumble rumble....

I think I'm going to draft up a report since this makes the third successful trial in Quake prediction and send it off to Dr. SOHO for his evaluation.

congratulations Zaanny - you just won some money!

I'll get in touch with the FDIC and ask them to meet you at an appropriate weigh in location so they can determine how much money you're worth... so they can send off a shipment order to the Federal Reserve after certification. UPS will deliver so watch for them, as I'm sure you don't want them leaving a substantially important package like that with your neighbors...

Darksparcs, i think your theory is spot on,i have been observing the same thing, something to keep our eye on.

Um..
On the 11th we were hit by nothing. Geomagnetic activity and the solar wind were very calm.

I'm showing 2 Geomagnetic Sudden Impulses, and a contiuation of the supercharged Electron eruption eminating from the sun since April 5th. Whenever something is recorded about it, that means that a rather substantial spike in quantity has occured.

This spike went above 1000 pfu. Note of interest, the spike recorded on the 10th peaked at 82248 pfu!

A warning was also issued about the onset of the Geomagnetic K-index spiking to a 4 - and remained in effect until midnight.

so I don't know where your getting your info from Phage, mine came directly from the NOAA Website...

HF communications are indeed bad. I make contacts every day there, on 20m usually, and the sound of bacon sizzling in the frying pan is up and down the band. Sorry, but solar max did not begin in 2009. Solar max predictors say 2012-2013 likely. Solar flux has gone up as much as 30% in the last 3 months or so, but we are nowhere anywhere near a max condition. If there is any connection between the Sun or earthquakes, it may be the Earth instead of the Sun because of the degrading of our magnetic field, which historically has filtered out most of the harmful effects of solar radiation. It may contribute to the problem, but I'm betting there are several causes, not just the Sun belching.

The Solomon Islands earthquake occurred at 09:40 UTC. The minor influence from the CME arrived at about 15:00 UTC on Sunday. More than 5 hours after the earthquake.

At 06:00 UTC the Kp index was less than 0. At 09:00 the Kp index was 1. At 12:00 the Kp index was less than 0. At 15:00 the Kp index reached 3.

The magnetometer on the GOES satellite recorded low level activity beginning at 15:00.

Data from the ACE satellite confirms that the products of the CME arrived after the earthquake.

The magnetosphere and the solar wind were calm at the time of the earthquake, as this clip from the RTMS shows.

I saw some beautiful auroras come across lastnight in Alberta. Green ones that I could easily see, in downtown with all the traffic lights that we have around.

But very interesting to note that the large Earthquakes that keep on popping up might be a relation to the CME's coming from the sun. I'll have my eye on it forsure!

Great job Phage, love the input.

The Earthquake happened at 8:40 PM....

Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 08:40:29 PM at epicenter

The DATA from the GOES satellite confirms direct GEOMAGNETIC interference at the time of the quake...

AND... the graph from the RTMS magnetosphere and the solar wind radar shows some rather interesting data:

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/3ac9a739937e.gif[/atsimg]

At around mid day on the 11th - look at that spike bro!....

ANYWAY... What about not so known variables? we should also look at those.

Gravity Impulse Wave?

Nutrino Pulse?

What about the Electron 2MeV Integral Flux Eruption? it's been in a steady state of Eruption since April 5, and warnings of it's flow exceeding 1000 fpu have been frequent - Maybe the 82,000 plus pulse the day prior to the C.M.E. has something to do with influencing the EarthQuake?

Continuation of Serial Number: 1656

Yesterday Maximum 2MeV Flux: 82248 pfu

Anyway ... lol, what is up with your data Phage? I posted that time of occurrance directly from the post above that I provided on the EQ data. It clearly states when the quake hit...

The earthquake hit at 20:40:29 Solomon Islands time, which is +11 GMT (UTC).

That makes it 09:40 GMT (UTC)

Can you explain the significance of electron flux?

But in any case, it, like the other things you're talking about, showed no significant change until the effects of the CME arrived at about 15:00. At which point it began dropping as it usually does during a geomagnetic event. Until then it was displaying normal minor diurnal variation.

While you're reading up on electron flux maybe you should study time zones too.

Reading about the ACE satellite and the SWEPAM would help too. There is no such thing as solar wind radar.
