Article:

Supreme Court Associate Justice John Paul Stevens, the court's oldest member and leader of its liberal bloc, said Friday he is retiring, Fox News has confirmed, giving President Obama his second high court opening to fill.

In a letter to the president, Stevens, the longest active serving member, said he has "concluded that it would be in the best interests of the court to have my successor appointed and confirmed well in advance of the commencement of the court's next term" in October. Stevens said he will step down when the court finishes its work for the summer in late June or early July.

This is very important news.

On this thread ( www.abovetopsecret.com... ) on March 30 which was Tuesday of last week I said the following.

And I am calling it right now. One SC conservative nominee will step down and a new one will come in to uphold it.

I am not looking for anything, I am only trying to prove a point. Obama now has the chance to appoint someone that will uphold the "Constitutionality" (if there is such a thing) of this Health care bill. This bill will go up before the Supreme Court and Republicans can raise holy hell about it now and keep us further divided. I have a question to the remaining republicans on this board. Do you think this is really just his time to step down? How convenient is it really? They can rule against this bill but instead he would rather step down and let Obama come in and make a new appointment. If you are anything like me and actually have a shred of conservatism in you, you will dump that party completely. I work in a place full of conservatives that vote republican time in and time out (just like I used to) and you can bet I finally have enough proof to maybe change some of their minds. I saw it coming a mile away. Time to wake up guys, that party is using you, they are merely socialists now and probably have been awhile. It is now time to amputate the two headed snake.
