Not entirely true. Chinese workers wages are much lower than American workers wages. Even if China let its currency appreciate, the Chinese worker would still make a tiny fraction of what an American worker makes.

American companies also went to China because the Chinese government gave them no-interest loans to build factories and China has lax environmental and labor laws.
